Gotcha Date: February 6th 2012 Birthday: May 1st 2011 Likes: Attention, Wade, treats from daddy, her boy Jordan, having her head brushed and her face powdered in the morning Pet-Peeves: Not being the center of attention, the cat, having Dad raise his voice at her. Favorite Toy: Her black Kong she doesn't go anywhere without it Favorite Food: Anything! Favorite Walk: She likes to go for walks in the neighborhood and I try to take her to the park where she can walk on a wooded trail. She's still a little skittish about traffic noise (no wonder) but she's gotten much better. Best Tricks: Stepping on every foot in the house. She's learned to drop her Kong on the treadmill while I'm running and will chase it when it shoots off the back. Arrival Story: My husband and I were coming home from work Monday, 2/6/12, when we saw what we thought was a dead dog on the inside shoulder of the freeway. Just as we drove past she lifted her head, so we circled back and picked her up. Vet thinks she may have fallen out of a truck bed. Bio: Maggie is a mess, but in a good way. She's got to be the center of attention at all times and is a master at stepping on every foot in the house. We've just about broken her of jumping but we're still working on the nipping problem. She's very orally fixated and has a Kong with her at all times. Forums Motto: Hi my name is Maggie, I'm new here I've Been On Dogster Since:
Hey everyone, thanks for the warm welcome and group invitations I've received since yesterday, I'm touched. It's been a whirlwind last few weeks for me. I started out on the inside shoulder of a freeway scared out of my mind and then this lady showed up and took me gently to a truck and this guy helped me in. They took me to the vet, and the office was nice enough to stay late for me, they had me looked at and fixed up. Luckily it wasn't too bad but I was really sore and had road rash in some very unladylike places. Then I went to their house and after a couple of days of resting I met their other dog Wade, he's older and not very playful but he's seems to like me. They also have a cat but best not talk about her, she doesn't like me at all. I recovered from my accident then I came into heat, oh boy. Then last Monday they had me spayed, got my shots and got me chipped so I guess I'm here to stay. They keep telling me that once I'm healed from everything I get to meet the dog down the street named Chesty, he's about my age and my size and the lady says we will be a good match together. His family is excited about that too, someone that can keep up with him. Overall I think this will work out fine, yoo hoo! BTW, the lady wanted me to say that the concrete floor in the picture above is because they were getting new floors and had to take up the carpet. I think she was embarrassed to include that picture but she hasn't had a chance to take many pictures of me yet.
