Zack's DNA Report - 9.15.12September 15th 2012 3:27 pm[ Leave A Comment | 6 people already have ]
I just got my DNA tested recently. Mom was curious because some of my behavior is a bit different for a German Shepherd. Here are the results of the test: I'm 50% German Shepherd, 25% White Swiss Shepherd, and 25% German Short Hair Pointer.

They ony have a very limited data base at best... and are rarely anything but chance messed guess. Maybe 2% have any validity... you got closer to lucky. These arent just my thoughts.. but the thoughts of the majority. Usual answer to "Should I get my dog DNA tested ?" is .... Spend the money on dog food.. its a better bet !! They got the 50% GSD for you... that is beyond rare to get that good with those DNA tests ! .. As to the rest... dont bet on it !!! Whatever.. you are beautiful... Zack, you sure look like german shepherd to me, and so those Kira. My father is white german shepherd and my mom is australian shepherd. Mom's dog before me was a white german shepherd. She was an alpha and always challenging Mom. I'm nothing like her, I listen, do what I'm told, and just being a good girl. The only problem I have is when meeting a new dog for the first time I get aggressive. It takes me a few meetings before I become friends.Mom says I'm very smart, but not smart enough to get caught with that bully stick.HaHa Reilly, Sounds like your mom's former dog was a dominant female. Mom's last female GSD, Gypsy Belle, was also dominant. They are good dogs but need more careful management. You sounds like a very good dog. Your behavior towards a strange dog might be "dog reactivity" rather than aggression. My sister Kira was very reactive toward other dogs. Mom and Kira worked with a trainer and she's very friendly around other dogs now. My sister Kira and I LOVE bully sticks! Hope that you're staying warm. |
