Gotcha Date: January 5th 2012 Birthday: February 9th 2011 Likes: Liver cake, playing fetch with his tennis balls Pet-Peeves: Having to wait for his turn to train Favorite Toy: Tennis balls Favorite Food: Liver cake, mince, ham Favorite Walk: Melville East Koppies Best Tricks: Sit, it took us two and a half weeks before he sat for the first time, he used to stand all the time Arrival Story: We adopted Weylyn from Border Collie Rescue in Johannesburg in January 2012. He needed a special home because of his difficult background. Weylyn was a super special dog, it was a great privilege to share my life with him even though our time together was far too short. Sadly his early bad treatment took its toll. I love you and miss you my boy and you will never be forgotten. Bio: Weylyn was found in a township in Port Elizabeth tied out by a tether so short he was unable to lie down. He was hit and had bricks thrown at him. He was rescued by an animal welfare group in Port Elizabeth and from there sent to the Border Collie Rescue kennels in Johannesburg. After nipping a few people due to fear they decided he needed a 'special' home where he could be helped to trust again and so he came to us. Forums Motto: Got balls? I am hi-jacking your diary today to write a message to you. I hope that wherever you are now that you are a peace, happy and know that you are loved.
I am so sorry that I couldn't do more for you, I did the best that I could and at the end made the only decision that I thought I could for you.
I wish you could have been with me from a puppy, and that you never had to endure all that you did before you came to us, and that we could have had many long years together. Even though that was not to be, I will always treasure the time that we spent together. I remember your eager smile as you waited for me to throw your ball, your focused concentration as you learnt your lessons, your attacks of the 'zoomies' running around the garden full tilt, the way you would collapse at my feet for a belly rub and so many other things.
I remember your great courage and your great beauty. I miss you with all my heart, but console myself with knowing I did the best thing for you.
I want you to know how privileged I am to have known you and how proud I am to have been able to call myself your mom. Thank you for your love and for all that you have taught me. I will always love you.
I just had to get starting writing because I have something very important to write about, I feel so proud! I have managed to pass a beginner obedience class, and trust me, it wasn't easy for me, but I did it.
Mommy is very very pleased with me, she said it was our proudest moment so far. Now I also have a rosette like all the other dogs :-).
