I dug a hole last night underneath the fence and this morning, right before Mom fed us breakfast, I got out. I had a great time running around and sniffing everything until I realized how far from home I was. I tried to get home but it was sooo hot. I was lost and upset. I knew my mom was looking for me, probably going to the shelter, but I dont know where that is and I dont know how to get there. I hope they find me soon.

............

Well, like Lady wrote, she got out. But before we could find her, she was hit by a car and died. A nice fmaily stopped when they saw the hit and held her until the end. The police officer that saw the crash called the Humane Society and they called us and returned her tags and had us identify her. We are heartbroken and will miss our baby VERY much.

My mom is killing me. She noticed I was getting a little pudgy when she gave me a bath and noticed she couldnt really feel my ribs anymore. (it's only a few pounds mom!) She decided to put me on a diet right away. Now I get my food in the garage so that I cant eat Goldie's food and I have 30 mintues to eat it. However she has been putting in really good stuff to make up for the time frame i have to eat and the smaller portions I'm getting. Last night she boiled some chicken and pored a little bit of the broth over my kibble. YUM!!!!!!!!!!! The night before that I had a tiny bit of scrambled egg mixed in. Hmmmmm. Maybe this diet thing isnt so bad. After all, it will get me looking young again and I get yummy extras in sometimes. Definitely much better than counting carbs like dad's doing or running on a treadmill....

It was a sunny, humid day in Puerto Rico and I was tired so I fell asleep with my brothers and sisters in a cardboard box. My owner picked us up and walked around the corner to a busy street. He stood up and held me up so everyone could see me. He chose me because I was the biggest and most alert. People drove by all day long and no one stopped. NO one wanted a puppy. So my owner tried something else. He decided to say we were lab puppies. Most of us looked alot like labs and since we were babies it was hard to tell how big we would get as adults. Suddenly, a burgundy and beige van drove by and all four heads turned around to see. They reversed and the mommy asked what type of puppy I was. My owner quickly said "Son labradores" (They're labradors) The oldest daughter, who was glowing at me, said "How much?" And my owner said "gratis, los estoy regalando porque no quiero tantos perros en casa" (free, i'm giving them away becuase I dont want so many dogs at my house). The family spent no time in deciding to take me and the oldest daughter named me....Lady Juliet...because I was gorgeous and dignified. She knew I wasn't purebred becuase she had read up alot about dogs before, dreaming of becoming a veterinarian and having dogs of her own. Finally I was here and I was her new best friend. She took me to the nearest grocery store sincei t was Saturday and all the vets were closed, and bought me puppy food, shampoo, a brush, a collar, a leash, and flea and tick powder. She got to work right away and soon I had a full tummy and was sleeping in her arms. I never forgot that day, thatmy new mommy gave me a home and loving care and to this day, even though I"m almost 6, I still love her so much and her daughter too. I love having such a wonderful family and I will tell you more about them later! Woof!
