Likes: bibi LOVES to play with the big red hollow rubber ball. she goes nuts over it, drooling and trying to carry it into the house all muddy... Pet-Peeves: bibi lets out an ear piercing high pitched bark when she's annoyed or not getting her way - which usually means she wants whatever louie is chewing on >right now Favorite Toy: the big red hollow rubber ball (so far the most indestructable toy yet). Favorite Food: bibi has a very refined taste for cuisine - it's either cat poop or chicken poop. Favorite Walk: bibi doesn't walk. she swims. Best Tricks: bibi is a great swimmer. she also super cuddly. Arrival Story: We adopted BiBi from a pittie rescue group in northern Georgia. She is a chubby happy little girl who likes everybody. We drove through a blizzard (in georgia!) to adopt her. When we got there she was completely covered in mud and had to be bathed before we could really play with her. Syrus was less than pleased - we think he knew that he was going to have to share everything with his new sis. Bio: BiBi has really smelly farts and snores louder than daddy. She likes to flop over on her back and wiggle around on the floor. She loves to be scratched and rubbed and is good at playing dead.
Bibi has mastered the blank unblinking stare, and has been known to fall asleep while sitting and staring. She's got the cutest personality, though! When she is happy, she will put an extra wiggle in her step. Bibi likes to copy everything that Syrus does, so now she too likes to give people who come over a present. She doesn't jump up on people but she will wiggle so hard she walks sideways and makes a funny growling noise or bellows (BARRROO!) when she is happy to see someone. Bibi is a water-loving dog who loves to swim in a pool or at the beach. She likes to fetch anything out of water, and "rescues" it by setting the toy down on the highest point on the beach. She is determined to catch herself a seagull and often runs back and forth along the beach chasing the flock of birds.
Bibi is such an active dog but she injured her left knee (torn ligament) and had to have surgery. Which failed. Now Bibi needs another surgery, this time with a metal implant and with a specialist at a university vet hospital. Momma and Daddy are very worried about little princess..... **her acl surgery went well - now she is recovering :) Forums Motto: It ain't easy being a princess... The Groups I'm In: Ban Stupid Legislation, Bullies are Good Dogs, Purrty Pitties, ~Royal Pits~ bunny demands:: a soft, cushy spot to sleep - preferrably a down comforter but any pillow will also do. she likes to tuck her nose under her paw to sleep. she has a paranoia of biting sandflies (from the beach) and will freak out if she sees a fly - anywhere. bunny insists on tasting her treats before swallowing them whole upon deeming it satisfactory for consumption. peanut butter - yes. bananas, not so much. she doesn't like to get herself dirty when eating - unlike louie who will happily roll around in ketchup and lick himself for 2 hours.
oh, and don't even think about waking the princess up before 9 am.
Well, it seems as though Bibi cannot be entirely trusted out in public. At first, we thought it was just cute the silly things she does. But we quickly realized that people don't like to see a "pit bull" running towards them, no matter how happy they may be. Case in point, we took Bibi to the Jones Bridge park one day and let her and Syrus play in the river. That weekend happened to be a fishing tournament for children so the river was stocked with little fishes and there were plenty of children fishing. Everyone got along great - the kids played with our dogs and had a blast - except for the one lone child standing on a boulder out in the middle of the river. He had his back turned and was fishing quietly by himself. Bibi doesn't like to see someone alone so she decided to SWIM across the river to that kid. I was worried that the current would sweep her away and then the kid turned around and saw a 50 lb pit bull wrapped in orange foam headed straight towards him. There was nothing I could do except yell to the boy that she was friendly and wouldn't hurt him while I tried to figure a way to get to Bibi. The child was paralyzed. He just stood there frozen while Bibi climbed up the rock, shook herself, then went right up to the kid and snatched his little fishing rod right out of his hands. Then, without any explanation, she turned around and plopped right back into the water and started swimming back.
I had to chase her down and take the fishing rod back to the child's mother who was actually laughing at the whole ordeal. I felt bad for the kid - it really is a shame that a dog's reputation can scare someone like that. I know for a fact that if any child had slipped into the water and started to drown that day Bibi would have been the one to save him.
Syrus gets away with bloody murder! Every single time mommy gives me a toy or treat or chewie, Syrus TAKES IT AWAY from me and he gets to have it!! Well, I won't stand for it any longer, and just wait 'til he tries that again! I got in trouble today because Syrus stole my pig ear and so I turned around and bit him on the nose, which made him cry like a baby. Mommy says I have really sharp teeth :)
We went to Forsyth park again this weekend and for some reason Syrus went crazy trying to catch this invisible squirrel sitting in the tree above us. He jumped about 6 feet in the air and grabbed a hold of the branch and almost tore it off the tree! That boy needs therapy! There was no squirrel!!
We went to the beach today and Syrus made a complete fool of himself, once again.
He spent most of the time digging a huge mud hole and got himself completely covered in mud. Meanwhile, I played with mommy on the beach and chased after the tennis ball. I really like the beach, this is the first time I have ever been to one, and although the water was really cold, it was a ton of fun. Mommy let us chew up palm branches and chase birds.
After we went swimming, mommy took us home and gave us turkey necks!! yummmmmmmmmmy!
