Arrival Story:
Karma came to us by way of a rescue. Before that, she had been in a high-kill shelter and was scheduled to be "put down". We don't know much about her history before that other than she had obviously been in an abusive home. We were told that she was a Rottie-Shepard mix, but our dog trainer said that she is a black and tan English Shepard. After looking at ES photos and characteristics, I came to believe that our girl is definitely an ES. She has many of the "herding instincts" such as trying to corral people into a single area and nipping at the ankles until they sit down. (We are working with a trainer to try and curb this behavior)
Bio:
Karma came from a local dog rescue who saved her from a high-kill shelter. Before that, she had been in a home where there had been abuse. She is VERY leary about strangers, especially men. She is extremely loyal and protective. She has never been properly socialized and does exhibit some fearful aggression toward strangers and other dogs. We are working with her very slowly at trying to introduce new people and other dogs. Despite her "nervous" tendencies, she is a fabulous dog! She is my constant companion often following me from room to room...she is my best friend.
