Arrival Story:
Meet Almond! This beautiful young lady is white with cute spots under her fur and is approximately 3-4 years old. When she came to ABR, Almond was very malnourished and had obviously recently given birth. Her foster family thinks she was likely abused, but is delighted by her wonderful manners and existing knowledge of basic commands! She is currently heartworm positive and recovering from kennel cough, but is quickly beginning to open up and play with her new foster family. She has not yet been tested with cats or dogs (waiting for the kennel cough to clear up), but is extremely gentle with children and loves to shake hands with them!
Almond responds well to routine and is, overall, a very calm boxer. She is housebroken, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. This polite lady will even wait by the door when she needs to go out. Her foster family is most impressed by her excellent leash-training; she practically doesn't even need a leash since she loves following her people and will come when called. Almond ADORES attention and seems to love everyone she encounters. She enjoys relaxing, and when outside, she will lie in the grass & soak up the Texas sun. Almond is gentle, well-trained, and ready to find her forever home!
