Gotcha Date: December 26th 2011 Birthday: July 28th 2011 Likes: Cody loves long walks, playing with his friends in the dog park and his many toys inside! Pet-Peeves: Coyotes howling in the field! Favorite Toy: His Blue Squeeky Toy! Favorite Food: Lately, it's been his Nyla Bone! Favorite Walk: Anywhere in our large complex! Best Tricks: Cody has completed a beginner obedience class. He is very good at sit, lay down, come, leave it and drop it. He loves to give us a "High Five" before getting a treat! Arrival Story: We met Cody on Christmas Eve of 2011 when he was with his brother and foster Mom. We fell in love with him on the spot. After some conversation, we agreed to bring him to our home on Monday, Dec. 26th to see if he was a good fit. When that morning came, we could only wait until 10:00 AM. Cody is a pure delight to be around. He is a playful puppy and loves to cuddle on our WVU blankets. We feel so lucky to have found him and adopt him!
It's not raining here today and that, in itself, is something to wag your tail about!!
My day started out with sleeping in until 8! WHOO HOOO....I made Mom and Dad happy since that meant that they could sleep in too! Mom took me out for a quick walk and I took care of all my "business"!! After we came back in, Mom was searching in the pantry for something and one of the shelves broke, bringing cans and bottles down with a BANG! That really scared me! Then, one of the jars of Verde sauce broke, so Dad and I were regulated to the bedroom while Mom cleaned up everything. Mom and Dad left me for awhile to go run errands, but fed me lunch when they got home and Mom took me to the Dog Park YIPPEE!!
Now, I think I'll rest a bit. I wasn't feeling very well yesterday, but Mom couldn't tell because I was not behaving very well. After I threw up at bedtime, I felt much better!

It seems like old man winter just refuses to let go as Mom had to wear her winter coat and gloves today on our walks. I really didn't mind the temps, but hated getting wet!
I don't know what is up with my behavior, but I've been sent to my room 3 times today! Geesh! I think it is all about nipping Mom when I'm too impatient to wait for her to do something for me. She told me I've got to figure out a different way to show her what I want and even showed me a few ways. I like the nipping better, but hate it when Mom gets mad at me. Maybe next time, I'll pay more attention to her.
It's almost time to settle down for the night. The sun has gone down and I feel a nap coming on!
This is my first diary entry since getting back from our week in West Virginia! Boy did we have fun! Dad took me every day to a place called Dorsey's Knob. I can climb rocks there and hike around! Both Mom and Dad took me to 2 different dog parks which I'd never seen before! They are so different from the one here. First of all, they are NOT flat! Then, there are trees and logs to play on all over the place. They even have a water fountain for just the dogs!! I loved both of them! I do
Usually I was so tired out at night that I didn't even mind when Mom and Dad left me to go out for dinner with family and friends! I just snoozed until they got home!
The 13 hour drive was even better both going and coming home. Whoever wasn't driving would sit in the back seat so I could sit up front if I wanted to. Sometimes I did, and sometimes I didn't, but it was nice to have the choice! The only bad part coming home was going through the city of Chicago. I hate that stop and go traffic and all those cars so close by! But, we all stopped a little bit before we got home for one last break to stretch our legs and go potty! Mom and Dad are the BEST!
We were all so tired by the time we got home on Sunday (at 2:30). They woke me up at 3:30 AM to leave and it was still dark!!! I don't like that, either, but it got light a couple of hours later! I spent most of the rest of the day on Sunday sleeping. Even yesterday, I was kind of lazy, but still found the energy to go to the dog park and see some friends.
Mom has had me over to the dog park a couple of times today and now I am getting ready to go rest on the deck with the nice, warm breeze blowing through my fur! AHHHH....life is good!!! :)
