Arrival Story:
We had Sammie 12 years before he left us...he was 16 years old. A few months after that I really missed him and decided it was time to adopt a new dog. I decided this time I wanted more than one and little dogs so they would be easier to pick up. So I looked on adoptapet.com and found dogs on the "Urgent" list at the local county shelter. Reba was listed so my son went to see her. She had been there 29 days and was so depressed and lethargic she wouldn't even lift her head as people passed by her cage. My son got into the cage with her and sat down petting her. She finally lifted her head and looked at him. He "fell in love" with this beautiful brown eyed deer looking dog. He picked her up and carried her around while we looked at other dogs. When we got her home, her personality came out and she has turned into just a wonderful dog. She's still a bit skittish around men but is getting better all the time. She is now over a year old.
