It's not me - its all the extra hair! (ok, maybe a little extra me) Sunday I went to PetSmart to get my haircut but couldn't - we forgot the proof of rabies so we had to go home. It was ok, I really didn't want a bath and mom was really having a hard time just going in the store. I have to admit, it was kinda sad - if there were two places in the whole world that Maggie and I LOVED going to.....one was "fursure" PetSmart. They even knew our name in there - we felt like celebrities - and they gave us treats!! We haven't been back since Maggie left.....I miss going...but I miss going with Maggie even more.

This past Wednesday, mom took my sister Maggie to the doctors (she had been doing that a lot so I didn't mind - even though I missed out on some prime car rides!)...but Maggie didn't come home. It's been 3 days now and I've looked everywhere but I can't find her. We even took a car ride and she didn't come (that front seat is way too big for one dog!!).
I know she had convinced mom to giver her some good food instead of that dry food we eat - I know, because I wan't about to just sit and wait for some to drop...when she wasn't looking I ate out of her bowl, then I'd sit nice and pretty right beside Maggie when mom tried to convince her to try something new. I don't know why she didn't like it - I sure did!! I've been in dog heaven all week with fish and turkey and chicken and ham and baby food and you name it - I tried it and liked them all!! But I'd give all that good food back if Maggie would come home....even the chicken nuggets and ice-cream (and those were the best).
I miss my Maggie Boo...it's just not the same around here without her. We were a great team together. Everybody loved the black and white dogs, but now we don't go out too much. Mom's sad; Kitty's sad; even the folks that live far away are sad - you can tell it in their faces and voices after they ask "how's Maggie doing?" I don't know who this Cancer is - Maggie said she thought she could beat him but instead, he got her.....and when I find him.....I'm going to let him know how much we hate him....and I might just try to bite him in the leg! For Maggie.

Well, in March Maggie and I passed our Canine Good Citizen test (grandpa asked if that meant we could vote now....I reminded him I live in Louisiana, so anything is possible). We also passed the TDI (Therapy Dog International) portion of the test....so now we are certified to do therapy visits.
We finally visited a nursing home last weekend and everyone loved us (even if they did tell us we were a little chunky). Maggie was more interested in cleaning the floor than with visiting, but I was happy to listen anytime someone decided to reach down, scratch my ears and talk to me. We're planning to go to a bunch more. We're joining a group called Caddo Caring Canines and those dogs do a LOT of therapy dog visits.
Our next goal is to become READ certified, then we'll visit schools and libraries and let the the kids read to us -- after they've read so many books to us, we'll give them a free book. I've just got to get mom to stop procrastinating and take the durn test!!
