Nicknames: Austin Boxer Rescue Arrival Story: Little Fanta is a sweet girl with a darling overbite that gives her lots of character. This petite lady, who is about 2 years old, came to ABR not feeling very well but is recovering in her foster home and is responding beautifully to a home where she gets lots of care and love.
Like most boxers, Fanta LOVES children and would very much enjoy a home where she can play with youngsters and "babysit". She also does very well with the small dog in her home and enjoys playing games and snuggling with her "little sister" who is a miniature shitzu. Fanta does have some fear based aggression with dogs her own size and larger dogs so will do best as a "big sister" to smaller dogs or as an only dog. She is a mixed bag when it comes to cats and will do OK with cats who are not intimidated by dogs but might chase a cat who is more fearful or not used to standing their ground with dogs.
Fanta is crate trained and is perfecting her house training. Due to her fear of large dogs she is a challenge on a leash so will not be a good match for dog parks or crowded walking areas. Luckily Fanta is content to spend most of her time at home....she loves playing games such as fetch and wrestling with her family and then is happy to snuggle on the couch and chill out. She is very affectionate to the people she lives with and wants to be in the same room. She is an extremely loyal dog and is very protective of her home and family. Her foster family says that they think she will be great with either a large family or with one person, as long as her new person/people are willing to give her the love and attention she craves and deserves.
