Arrival Story:
I was rescued by mom after I was given away from my original home. My previous owner was elderly and one day we were walking and I saw a rabbit. I wanted to chase the rabbit but I guess my previous owner didn't I ended up pulling him down and he broke his hip and decided I was too much for him to handle. I was really sad at first because they separated me and my brother, but mom takes good care of me and spoils me rotten, so things are great now.

Bio:
I have a really big tongue, and such a big underbite that my lips usually get stuck on my teeth. Mom likes that, says I am smiling at her, so I have learned to "stick" them myself and that usually gets me a ticket onto the couch for while.

hibernating

I have been hibernating a lot... sleeping and eating and sleeping and eating... mom has been coming and going a lot. Some nights I stay by myself (she says I am such a good girl, a BIG girl, for being brave and not peeing on the carpet while she is gone.) I do my best cause I always know she'll be home soon and she'll give me a biscuit and take me for a walk. But it can get lonely. I'll be happy when the day comes and my new dad can come and live with us. Mom says to just hang tight, be patient and eventually I will have a full family again.

My new dad is funny, he wasn't sure about me at first, but I have gotten him to come around. I just put my slobbery face on his chest and press down and sigh... he can pretend that it bothers him all he wants, but I know he secretly likes it. No one can resist the power of my face!

When mom's not around he and I cuddle on the couch and he complains that I get hair all over him... but what am I supposed to do, besides, its just hair! He laughs when I wiggle my "tail" (aka the "nub") because my whole bottom shakes with it... He laughs and scratches me behind the ears and I just stand there smiling and rubbing against him... I really love the attention. He says I act more like a cat than my brother does.

I get so excited when he comes over... he plays "football" with me. He says this is "real" football not that crap that American's call football. He even bought me my own ball so we can play with it.

I think he's great. He and mom are so happy, I can tell. That makes ME happy... mom deserves the best, she's so cool. I like it when he is here, cause it feels like we are a real family. He secretly gives me food scraps when mom isn't looking. Hee hee... and when mom tries to tickle him I get mad... I know he doesn't like it and mom ought to know better... but she does it anyway. So I bark and growl at her and try to get her to stop. She calls me a "traitor" and he just laughs and laughs.

So yeah, things are good... I will be happy when it gets warm out again and we can play outside more. But for now, I think I will go back to sleep... stay warm!

Mud Mud Mud Mud Mud Mud Mud Mud

I went outside today and I got a new toy! That white stuff finally went away, and underneath was this great big mud slide! I went outside and jumped up and down in it, and ate some, and rolled around! It was a blast! And then a stranger was in the yard next door so I protected mom by stomping and barking and jumping around. He didn't leave but he didn't come any closer either, so I am must be pretty tough! Mom didn't think it was so fun though, when I came inside she made me stay on the mat and then wiped me down with this wet towel, yuck! She kept saying something about a "bath" -- I hope its not that water torture device that she's used before. I was just playing!

My Tongue

You may have noticed it in the photos... I have a very big tongue! All the better to give kisses with! Mom says its so big it won't always fit in my mouth, especially when I am sleeping. She teases me and tickles it when I am asleep, I usually just open one eye and sigh to let her know that its not funny any more and that I am trying to sleep. Speaking of, nap time again!
