He loves being on our laps and generally being with his people. Very cuddly.

Pet-Peeves:
Any intruders in his yard. For a small-medium sized dog, he has a big, deep bark that warns cats, squirrels, and birds to stay away.

Favorite Toy:
He likes to play with 2 toys at the same time. He'll have a ball in his mouth while he bats another one around with his paw and chases it.

Favorite Food:
He only gets Natural Balance Lamb and Rice, but he's been known to sneak foods off the countertop when no one's looking (including grilled filet mignon!).

Favorite Walk:
Around the neighborhood - loves to run into other people and dogs.

Best Tricks:
Sit, stand up, shake hands, lay down, stay, bow.

Arrival Story:
After our beloved Shetland Sheepdog passed away, we decided not to go to a breeder for our next dog but to adopt one from a Long Island shelter. We were told Ike was a Shepherd mix and would grow to be big (60-80 lbs.). He's actually small/medium (40 lbs.), and we wonder what kind of dog he is. Any ideas? We brought Ike home on our 29th wedding anniversary.

Bio:
We believe Ike is from the south, as this shelter routinely drives a bus to the south to rescue dogs and cats.
