Arrival Story:
This wonderful hound was given to my husband as a Christmas gift in 2010. He was told if a good home could not be found for him he might be "put down" We are Copper's 5th home by the time he was 8 months young. Why anyone would not want this boy is totally baffling to me. He has the sweetest disposition and personality. His antics are endearing and adorable. He is so full of Love and Affection. He is very intelligent. I Thank God that We Have Him. We have one walnut tree in our yard, and oh how I laugh when he wants to get the squirrels. I've grown to love his bark and baying. There isn't anything that he does that bothers me, but it just makes me love him more. He cuddles all the time, sleeps in my bed, tolerates the bully cat. On our walks he looks proud and majestic, when he is running he looks so free and happy. He isn't one to play with other dogs, he greets them and then he just wants to run. Not great with toys, shreds tennis balls into confetti. This Mom Loves her Copper

Snow Day

It snowed yesterday, gotta confess I do NOT like to get rained on, OR Snowed on. After a while I decided if I needed to go uhhh ya know... I gotta tolerate snow flakes.
Tracking the rabbits and squirrels seemed easier somehow. Oh boy oh boy oh boy when that fence is up. But Mom WILL NOT be pleased if I catch any.
Why does mum chuckle when I do the "my paws are cold dance" ? You know, one paw off the ground, put it down next paw off the ground till all four have had a wee bit of a break. Geesh these humans, I don't get them sometimes. Like I'm cold and she thinks it's cute.
Seriously, she was glad to take me out in the snow. I tried to play some, but there is only so much you can do on a leash. Cracks up my humans when I start tracking, nose to the ground and what they call "that snuffling" noise. woofy woof woof humans are so easily entertained. Almost guarantees a treat every time.

Mum told me Moli loved the snow. Moli was the Dalmatian they had. She passed away on 11 / 27 / 10. Mum says I would have loved her. apparently at night, in the snow only her black spots were visible. She loved playing in the snow until old age put a stop to it. I know mum misses her, but, she has told me that I made a brand new very special place in her heart and she loves me as deeply and strongly as she did Moli and Snickers. Snickers was Moli's cat sister, she passed away October 19, 2009. Mum admits that after those two heart breaks she didn't want anymore pets. It pained her too deeply. Luckily Clyde (my cat brother) and I needed a loving home where pets are not disposable. Where dad used to be in a house full of females, now it is a house full of males .. yep mom laughs at that too.

Well being this will be my second winter, first one with a fence. I'll be keeping up to date on what kind of shenanigans and playful follies are going on. Gotta wonder what these humans will do in the snow. Sure can't wait to play and find out.
Until next time have a Wooferiffic day pup pals

My First Dogster Day

Well Hello, woof, I'm glad to be here at Dogster.
I cannot wait to make some friends here.
My human mom and dad are getting a 6 ft. "dog eared" privacy fence put up just for me. It should be done in a week or two. Oh I cannot wait to run in my yard. Mom has held me back from getting those pesky squirrels, I almost had one in my mouth one day, but she caught me. I heard her laughing though. Since I will not be on a leash in the yard anymore I'll be able to chase to my puppy's heart content.
Mom's a pushover, she even loves my paw prints, muddy or otherwise. She is my main care giver, she is home all day.
You see, I'm super loving and affectionate, crave attention
24 / 7. I don't like to be left alone.
I need exercise and mom takes me for a 6 block walk in the morning and dad sometimes takes the 3 block in the evening. I don't have a big ego, but other humans compliment me a lot. Mom eats it up and appreciates it.
Well time to get our day going, Happy Weekend Friends
