Arrival Story:
My mom and dad got married in June of 2006, and mom really wanted a dog. It took dad some time to warm up to the idea, because he was afraid that he'd end up taking care of it if they got one. Well, for Christmas that same year, mom got the BEST Christmas present she could ever receive, and she named me Skout. She says that I am her life...like her child, really. She calls me her baby all the time. She loves me so much, and I love her just as much!!!! My dad is also very happy that he picked me out for mom...he loves me almost as much as mom does. JK...I think he loves me just as much as mom does.

Bio:
Hello all, my name is Skout. I was brought into this world on October 7, 2006, and God blessed me with the best parents possible. My mom takes care of me like it's nobody's business, woof, woof!!!! She found this website while researching a disease that I was diagnosed with on November 23, 2011. It is called IMHA. She had no idea what it was. She had never even heard of it. It made me very, very sick. I am quite sure that I was knocking on death's door. I was right...my CBC was at 5% when I arrived at Mississippi State University after a night of treatment with my regular vet at home. He said that is not even compatible to life. My parents got me there just in time to save my life. I am now the "Miracle Dog" around my parts. You should all be happy to know that after a week in ICU at MSU I was well enough to come home. I must say all of these medications that they sent me home with are NOT cool, but I take them like a champ because I know that I must continue to get well for my parents, especially my mom. I have bloodwork done almost every week right now to make sure that I am still doing okay and not relapsing with IMHA. They are beginning to taper my medication off, so this point in care is making my mom a nervous wreck. I think that I am going to do well though!!!! I continue to ask each of you wonderful pals for your prayers during this difficult time in my life. Thank you all!!!!
