Birthday: December 1st 2001 Arrival Story: Holly was adopted from a high kill shelter years ago. She's been abandoned and neglected since then, a draw-back of shelters just wanting the dogs out of there, not screening carefully where they go. Holly's nails were over three inches long and curled under when found. She was filthy, she is blind and she's almost deaf. Imagine wandering around lost and confused, until animal control picked her up. Bio: We noticed Holly declining at another high kill shelter, she was on the euthanasia list.
We talked to the shelter staff and they let us take her as a "final refuge" dog. However, once here, we realize Holly has a lot of life left in her and we're going to give her the chance to recover fully. She'll always be blind (can see shadows) and partially deaf (can hear loud noises) but her quality of life is not poor by any means. We'll have her dental done very soon during which she may lose all or most of her teeth.
She's an awesome little dog and would be a great companion for just about any home who wants a low-key quiet lap dog! I've Been On Dogster Since:
