We welcomed Saige into our home July 14th, 2011. She was the second of the two pups born but much bigger than her sister. Her mommy labored and pushed for just under an hour before she was born. Saige entered the world feisty and ready to go. This would prove to be her true personality to this day. She was the more aggressive feeder often tumbling over her sister to eat. A very watchful eye had to be kept on her because once she discovered how to climb out of the whelping box it was over! Her mom was extremely diligent and would either sit with her usually under the bed until myself it my husband was available or move her back to the box. Because of her curiosity and ability to nice around so well we began Portugal training at 3 weeks which was very successful. She also began trying solids at about 4.5 weeks. She started off a darker hue with black tips but has lightened and brightened up tremendously. She now only has black on the tip of her tail. Her undercoat is even lighter so we are not exactly sure what color she will ultimately turn out to be. We will of course love her regardless. Saige is such a joy to have in our family and we absolutely love her to death! Life would definitely be boringly different without her. Absolutely adore Poms!
