Likes: Bones and chewies Best Tricks: Herding her foster brother when he chases frisbees Arrival Story: Pebbles just might be the most mellow ACD on the planet. Without a doubt, she is the sweetest we have ever met. Pebbles was brought to a shelter in Kentucky because she was chasing cats. She quickly became a shelter favorite. Then she tested positive for heartworm. Homeless dogs in this situation don't always get a chance at medical care. But Pebbles' sweet demeanor and gentle spirit inspired the shelter to get her help. They found a foster home to take her while she underwent treatment and then she took the trip North to find a forever home.
Pebbles is around 3 years old and weighs 35 lbs. She has a distinctive left ear in that the point is missing. We aren't sure how it happened but she doesn't show any sensitivity there so it probably happened a long time ago. Bio: She is an absolute joy to foster. She is a little shy at first and will roll over to show you she comes in peace. Respond with a belly rub and you'll have a friend for life! Pebbles is submissive to other dogs. She is currently living with 5 dogs and she has a different relationship with each one! She gives a quick belly up to the b-tchy female in the house. She appears to have a crush on our handsome red merle Aussie and gives him submissive kisses. She loves to "herd" our Frisbee chasing ACD. And she is a frisky playmate to our other ACD and a Boxer/Beagle foster. However, if a dog "gets in her face" too quickly, she will stand up for herself and tell that dog to back off until she is ready.
If you love the Australian Cattle Dog breed but aren't sure you have the time for all the activity these dogs normally require, consider Pebbles. She likes a little running, but not much. She loves to take walks and then to curl up in a soft dog bed. She is solidly housebroken and will gently cry if she needs to go out and you aren't paying attention. She loves to unstuff toys (we buy them cheap!) and chew on bones and rawhides -- but has never chewed anything she shouldn't.
Pebbles is a remarkable girl who will be happy in most any situation -- as long as it includes lots of love! She is being fostered privately in Langhorne, PA.
