Protecting my dad

Update on Scooter's life with us

Scooter has really grown in many ways except weight....he stays at 5 lbs and once in a while I can get him to 5 lb 4 oz....that is pretty heavy for him..hee hee. He has been everwhere my husband and I go, he has been in parades, gone to the movie theater, stayed overnight with me in the hospital when I had surgery, we away with us on our 33rd wedding anniversary trip. I got some wonderful group of doctors who helped me to get him as my "Assistant Dog". He has all the proper paperwork, and a badge that is too big for him to wear so I wear it and he wears his special vest. He is such a wonderful gift, friend, support and "huggy" to and for me.
He is not into playing with toys anymore, he loves to sleep all day long if we let him. He is so funny at bedtime, he sits on the bed and stares at my night stand as he knows that is where his night time goodies are kept. Once he gets a few he will then run around the bed and tug at a pillow and play with it til he gets so tired then he lays on it and sleeps until I get him up (though he would rather stay there all day). He is a very special, funny, caring dog. I thank God for blessing me with him and he with me...we have saved each.

April 29th, 2007 Updates of Scooter

Scooter is now an only dog in our family now. We lost Baby 2 years ago to old age. It was very hard on all of us. We are so thankful for the 15 years we had with her.
Scooter has become my Assistant dog as he helps me to do my everyday things. God had sent me to Scooter to save him from a rescue who had saved him from an abusive home and then he saved me to do all the things I need to do in life. We were put together per God's plan.
Scooter rides on our motorcycle with us, he has had his picture taken by so many people. As you see in the pictures of him with his doggles on, he is so adorable.
Scooter has riden in parades, gone to the movies with me and stayed at the hospital with me when I had surgery. He has gone to different states with us, he goes everywhere we go...he is a funny little guy, but you can see that he is different, careful of people, other animals until he feels safe with them. He is still uncomfortable with other animals and it is so funny as he goes to work with me where I am the office manager for my veterinary. We see so many animals, but Scooter rides in my front pack so he always feels like the king and safe.
In October he is going to go to Disneyland with us. He loves to ride in the truck and just go whereever we go for as long as we want to go. He is treated so special as he is, he makes us laugh, he gets so excited when he sees us come in the house from the backyard or if he was with one of us and gets to see the other. He loves when his daddy comes home from work and just runs around and barks as he wants to get that cookie as he does whenever daddy comes home.
He has different coats as he would get cold during the winter, but daddy kept saying that he does not need a coat...and Scooter has picked up on it and does not like it when I try to put one on him now.

Protecting my dad

My dad took me into my parents bathroom to eat ( I eat there so my sister will not get my food). He was laying down on the floor watching me, but when I was done eatting he did not say "good boy, Scooter", he just layed there. I sniffed and scracthed, but he did not move. Mom came in a few minutes later to find us like you see in the picture. My dad had fallen asleep and I sat on his back to protect him. My mom thought it was cute so she took some pictures. She has some pictures of me that she is going to be adding to my site. Each time she gets the camera out I get right in front of the lens and she only gets my nose.
I will write later when my mom lets me.
