Arrival Story:
The Chihuahua is technically my 'Foster Dog' She's had two homes prior to mine. The First -I know nothing of. The Second was with an elderly Womyn who LOVED The Chihuahua VERY MUCH but lost The Chihuahua when placed in a 'Home'. The Chihuahua was not liked by the elderly Womyn's son and was left at a shelter for them to 'do whatever' with. The Chihuahua became stressed and hysterical resulting in my receiving an 'Emergency' Foster call and the rest, as they say is history.

Bio:
The Chihuahua is INCREDIBLY SMART. When she first arrived I'd been told that she was originally called 'Princess' and then 'Snuggles'. I was only suppose to have The Chihuahua for a short Time, so when she did not respond to either name I simply stated 'commands' -not wanting to train her to a Name only to have it changed yet again when she was finally placed. . . However, she had 'Other Ideas'. Leaving her w/ my Dad when I worked I'd come home and inquire with him about how 'The Chihuahua' behaved during the Day, if 'The Chihuahua' had been walked and/ or eaten Dinner. VERY SOON she figured out that SHE was 'The Chihuahua' and started coming every Time she heard me say those words! (BTW: I purchased 'The Chihuahua Song' -from that Disney Chihuahua movie. Chihuahua gets CRAZY HAPPY when she hears that song! She hops around on her hind legs smiling and barking with delight every time she hears the chorus yell "CHIHUAHUA"! ) Mostly, The Chihuahua could be described as being a lot like the Character of 'Ziva David' on the show NCIS. She is an AMAZING little Dog! -and she can be a handful. She will bite if approached by a stranger and is VERY Dog aggressive. She also has developed lots of allergies and 'digestive issues' -consequently she requires a Special Diet, a lot of Medications, and can be expensive to maintain. She requires eye drops for 'Cherry -Eye' but fortunately it only flares up when she's overly stressed or when she is not feeling well. (If as she ages it gets worse we'll investigate possible surgery.) As she ages, she occasionally has small 'accidents' while asleep -so we've got her in diapers at night. . . Otherwise she is Healthy, Happy and [if she gets to know you] is EXTREMELY Affectionate and Protective. She has a GREAT sense of humour [she makes me REALLY LAUGH HARD at least once a Day. . .] and is by nature a Happy and Loving little Dog. Due to her many 'Issues' The Chihuahua has not been adopted and as of this Date, She and I have been together two, going on three Years. I've recently agreed to be The Chihuahua's "Long-Term" Foster Mom. Thus, we will likely live out the rest of our lives together. . .
