Arrival Story:
I was house sitting for a friend and her pets over the summer. In her backyard there is a large swimming pool which was covered with a solar blanket. One night, around 3am I heard splashing in the pool and some strange noises. I waited for a minute to try and discern what or who was making the noise. I walked outside, suspecting some neighbor teenagers might be getting up to some hanky panky... but there was no one in the pool. Just a pitiful grunting and splashing coming from underneath the solar blanket at the deepest end of the pool. I dove in, PJs and all to find little Pabi worn out and struggling beneath the blanket. He was so scared, worn out, and very confused about why that piece of ground wasn't so solid!!! After drying him off I gave him the once over. No collar, skin and bones, fleas, fleas, fleas! I did note that he was neutered (plus!), and had loads of gunk in his ears. I brought him to the local clinic where they have graciously kept him safe, flea-free, well fed, well loved, and ear-mite free! Now we just want to find him a good home!

Pabi is a very loving dog, and loves to spend time cuddling. He gets along with everyone! Dogs, Cats, and People alike. He is older, we estimate around 8 years old and he's been living at the clinic since the summer. He was not micro-chipped, nor has anyone come to claim him. I regularly bring him home to run around with my roommates' and my dogs in the yard, and he just so loves to play! I can't wait to find him a forever home because anyone would be lucky to have such a good little friend. Although he lives at our clinic, the Southern Illinois Humane Society is graciously trying to help us find him a home. Please visit their Facebook page, and you can see that he is listed under adoptable dogs! ane-Society-of-Southern-Illinois/1 35392009814754
