Arrival Story:
She was caught on the hot streets of New Mexico scrounging for food. I found her sitting in a kennel stacked 3 high next to the door to the euthanasia room. Her head hung down, mucas hanging from nose, a bag of bones, lactating but they said they couldn't find her puppies. I said I want her & they said she was already scheduled to be put down, she was too ill and wouldn't make it probably anyway, but I insisted. They said ok, you can foster her and see if she pulls through. I said ok, and off we went with meds (long story short) & w/ round the clock care after about 2 months she was better! I found out through an emergency visit (another story)she has a heart condition & old injury (broken sternum at some point in her little life) She and my other dog Pops, who passed in September, became best friends. Every day since is a learning experience as she seems to never have been socialized before or been kind to. It was obvious that she was neglected at some point and someone had been abusive to her since she cowers when you go to pick her up and sometimes pees a little but has gotten a lot better with my positive reinforcement. She is such a good girl though I can't imagine why anyone could ever be unkind. She was a foster failure, but a forever home success!
Bio:
MoeMoe is very cat-like and can jump up on anything like cats do. She is very affectionate to her person and will put her arms around your neck and give you squeeze hugs when you come home. She will lay her head on your chest or shoulder.
One of her bad habits is eating cat poo from the neighbors cats in our yard so we say she is a dirty girl ick.
She likes to burrow in the bed pillows and throw them on the floor.
She will spin around in circles when she's happy.
