Leave a bone for Fiona

Nicknames: I Found a Home!!!!!

Quick Bio:
Likes: Toys, Running, jumping REALLY high, watching TV, Killing unsuspecting toys, Tormenting ginormous dogs who could eat me for a snack.

Pet-Peeves: people touching her butt, dogs who want to play with her toys. Dogs who try to hump her

Favorite Toy: Everything! Balls, stuffed animals, rawhides, the couch cushions (great for hide and seek!)

Favorite Food: I am only allowed to eat dog food at my new home, I used to get to eat whatever I want. But I have found that dogfood always tastes better from someone elses bowl.

Favorite Walk: She likes to go hiking in the woods with her foster friends and family, so long as noone tries to step on her

Best Tricks: I am working on learning down and sit, I like down better. I am super fast and athletic, my foster mom says I would be fantastic at agility , I can get over any boundary, and out of any room ( but I am pretty good in my crate)

Arrival Story: Due to ill health her previous owner could not handle the burden of an energetic and assertive puppy so she had to give her up. Fiona was quite used to getting her way all the time before she came to live with me. She is doing much better now but needs an owner who will not baby her and who will be firm with her. Prior to coming into foster care she was basically allowed to bite people if she didn't like what they were doing. Well I put a stop to that!!! She is sensetive about people touching her tail as she was hit by a car and possibly has some discomfort even though she has complete function (this dog can jump 3 feet straight up). She is still a puppy and is super energetic. Basically the only time she gets mouthy now is when she is totally overstimulated and needs to blow off some steam she will follow you around jumping at your fingers, not biting hard but just trying to get your attention. Or if you are tugging at her tail (though there is daily improvement - now she pretty much just watches me really close when I play with her tail). She has never bit me hard enough to hurt but her former owner let her get away with it and she frequently gave her balck and blue marks. She is absolutely not able to go into a home with children under the age of 12. She is a really affectionate dog who loves to give kisses and is really quite wonderfully behaved in a lot of ways - she has learned crate and housetraining in about a week. She gets along fine with dogs ranging from 10 - 160 lbs, cats, birds, rabbits and guinea pigs. She is delighted to meet every new person who comes in the door. She barks when playing or when someone is at the door, but I beleive she could be trained to bark less frequently. We have been using clicker training with her and she loves it! She is fine about being handled so long as you let her know you are in charge , reward her lots and keep it fun! She is the easiest dog I have ever met to cut her nails. Basically for the right person she will be a perfect angel.

Bio: Fiona is cute as a button, we aren't sure exactly what she is but she seems to be the product of a mating between a squirrel and a fox. So she is a squox or a firrel!?! Fiona wants to do agility!!! And go shopping, and go for rides and go to the park. She is not your typical small dog. If you want to get a small dog that you can do big dog stuff with and that you don't have to carry everywhere and baby, then Fiona is the answer. She is definitely going to want to go through some formal training, it is fun for both of you! We would like to keep her in the New England area.
