I wanted a big dog since I already had a little Maltese. I wanted to have a rescue dog and make a difference in a dog's life. I found Emma Virginia on petfinder.com. She was in a shelter in Lyons, NY. We traveled 45 min. in a rainy ice storm and fell in love with the gentle, sweet girl. She was living in a barn type building with many other barking dogs. She looked at me as if to say, get me out of here. She entered our van through the back but as soon as it started to move she hopped over the back seat and into my lap and heart forever. She continues to be a sweet girl, who is kind of shy, but is the friendliest and kindest dog ever. She follow us everywhere outside and loves to help us garden.
