Going to the dog park (we have to spell P-A-R-K), playing with his squeaky ball.
My husband Bob and I took Schultz in when a neighbor had to move and could not take him with him. My husband had advised our neighbor (without consulting me) that he would take the dog if for any reason he could not keep him, but I was reluctant because he was already 4 1/2, we had 3 cats, and I did not feel he had been trained and socialized properly. We had put our previous dog, 14 year old rescue Nickie, down a few months previously, were ready for another, but I wanted to adopt a screened Shepherd from a rescue.
I did agree to taking Schultz in, because where he may have ended up was not ideal. After outside and in-home training sessions ($$$$), he is a different dog, although he still has issues with thinking he has to guard us and the house, especially from the mailman. He is best friends with our youngest cat, Sarah Jane; buddies with our 10 yr old Gizmo; and has a truce with our 15 yr old Siamese, Sabastian.
He is really a great dog, and I love him with all of his issues
Schutz is a pure breed plush coat German Shepherd, but his sire was Belgium.
