Likes:
I love to sleep! I also like to go for walks, but mostly sleep!

Pet-Peeves:
I HATE thunderstorms. Is all that noise really necessary? I also don't like lightening because I know that means the thunder isn't far away. And Fireworks? What's that all about? I don't like to be left alone either. Why can't I go too?

Favorite Toy:
I think my favorite toy is probably whatever I can take away from my 'brother', Major.

Favorite Food:
I really like rawhide bones! :)

Favorite Walk:
I like to walk wherever Mom is walking.

Best Tricks:
I know basice obedience and love to give people 'high fives'.

Arrival Story:
Mom adopted me from the Humane Society where she volunteers. I was placed up for adoption because my previous owners were moving to Japan (kind of funny they couldn't take me and that's where Akita's originate from!). I was in the kennels for four long months before my new Mom decided to adopt me. I was so happy! :) The day after I was adopted a family who had previously looked at me came to get me. When the family first looked at me, they had been turned down because they had another dog at home. (The director of the Humane Society didn't feel comfortable with me being in a home with another dog because I was kind of aloof and didn't think I needed another dog around.) So the family went home and 'got rid' of the dog they had so they could adopt me!!! Good thing Mom beat them to me! :-) Makes me wonder how long I would have stayed in that home if they had adopted me.

Bio:
One day while being kenneled, a Shar Pei got ahold of my ear. I had been sleeping and apparently my ear was sticking through the chain link of the kennel and the Shar Pei didn't want it there so he 'removed' it. Meany!!! I ended up at the vet clinic and they had to pretty much crop my ear to make it look semi normal. Poor me! But hey, Mom says it gives me character! :-)

Sometimes I'm not very happy with my Mom. Yesterday she took my 'brother', Major, for a walk and she didn't take me. She says she doesn't like me to go on long walks because she thinks it bothers my back legs if I walk too far. I also don't get to go on the shorter walks a lot of the time either! I don't like to do my 'duties' like Major does before we go on a walk and prefer to do them while we're walking. Well apparently, Mom doesn't like that because it embarrasses her when she has to clean it up. So if I don't do my 'duty', I don't get to go. But the good thing about it is that I get to stay outside in the backyard. I love being outside in the fresh air and protecting my backyard from the rabbits and squirrels (they should know by now it's my yard, not theirs!). I guess staying home isn't so bad. It makes me feel important knowing I'm protecting the backyard! :-)
