Gotcha Date: October 13th 2011 Birthday: October 3rd 2009 Likes: snuggling and walking with us or riding in the car, really whatever we want to do she is ok with Pet-Peeves: strange dogs coming close to her people,... this we are working on Favorite Toy: soft toys and tennis balls Favorite Food: she likes all types of dog treats we have given her and eats moistened dry kibble as a reg diet Favorite Walk: around our property and anywhere we go at all "JUST PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME BEHIND" is her motto Best Tricks: she has learned to sit for her A.M. "cookie" after her walk. Bonnie is quick to pick up on our routines and learns by example of her siblings as well as by what we tell her she is adapting quickly without formal training sessions. Arrival Story: Bonnie was a rescue. we were to be her Foster Family till all her medical work was done and she was groomed and her adopter could meet her. That did not work out and she adopted us! and of course... we fell in love. She is just an amazing girl. She was a discarded or lost pet that was never advertized or looked for or something. She was well cared for by her original rescue family and they loved her enough to keep her safe and call a rescue group to ensure she would find a good home. The day we went to pick her up she was still quite tangled with cockle burrs from the time she was running. but well fed and had already shown this family how much love she had to give. It was a teary goodbye and I felt bad for this lady who had given her care and received so much back in such a short time that they had made this strong a bond. This is who Bonnie is... a 14 pound soft fluffy [now; not then] hunk of LOVE! Bio: Maybe someday we will know more about how she came to be out in the middle of nowhere on this big farm just seemingly dropped at their doorstep or driveway gate and left. She has immpeccable house manners and is just wonderful. So someone spent time to teach her at some point. We are just very fortunate to have had the oppertunity to foster this girl and then adopt her.
Bonnie's coat is growing out now from the scalping she needed to get her back in good form after all the time running in the woods and fields. She was shaved for her spay also, so that is being "repaired" now. She looks more and more like a typical Schnauzer girl as the weeks progress. Could she get any cuter...yes she has!
