Arrival Story:
I was alone in a new neighborhood and lonely while my kids and husband were away during the day. The day after Thanksgiving we went to a local flea market. After just losing my beloved 18 yr old Pekingese I was afraid to have my heart broken again. In a pen there were 3 Boston Terrier pups wrestling and making all kinds of noise. My two sons ran over and stood on each side of the pen. Two pupies grabbed their shirts through the pen and began pulling. After entertaining the crowd for half an hour my husband decided that was what I needed. Then we realized that we did not have enough money to purchase a pup. We left down hearted. I looked down at my swollen hand and realized that I could not wear my wedding rings anymore so why keep them. We went to a pawn shop and sold them giving us enough money to buy a puppy. The next day we returned to the flea market to see only two puppies left. My husband reached in the pen to pick one up and the other one attacked his hand. I said that is the one we need. Mickey was just under 6 weeks of age. We bought him a harness and leash. As soon as we put him down he acted like he had been walking on a leash for ever. On the way home we stopped by Wendys and little Mickey had his first taste of hamburgerdah. Mickey has become my best friend and one of the smartest dogs in my life. Plus he is much better than some old unwearable wedding rings sitting in a drawer. The husband may be gone but Mickey is still my best friend. Mickey crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 3, 2008 at 10 pm. He cried out momma before he took his last breath. I am a better person for having you in my life Mickey. I'm sorry I could not do more for you or be that perfect person that only you saw.

I miss you so much Mickey. I know you would have loved it here. I could have taken you fishing every weekend. I often dream of you bubba. I miss the scent that was just you and most of all I miss kissing your soft muzzle. I miss listening to your snoring at night. It was usch a comfort. I will be glad when I get to the Rainbow Bridge so we can lay beside one another under the shade of a big ole tree.
Love Momma

My Momma's never home

Now that my momma is working she is never home. When she leaves for work she gives me a kiss and tells me she loves me but I sit at the door and cry momma momma for a long time until one of the bubbas makes me quit. Then I go to the room and howl because I miss my momma. Now momma comes home from work and sits at the computer because she is writing another book. I sit at her feet until she is ready to go to bed then I go and snuggle with her to let her know I forgive her for going to work and sitting at the computer. I know she loves me because she took me out to eat and to the park for my thirteenth birthday.
I love you momma
