Hey Pals! No big announcements yet--that little Furlass is just biding her time. Soon we'll all get to see her.

It's a real good thing Mom got that Nintendo and Brain Age game recently. She actually caught her faux paws from my last diary entry, BOL. She had originally written happy 12th birthday to Dogster. Geez, Mom! Anyhow, now that her brain is getting younger every day, there's no telling what brilliance she'll come up with. Um, er, well, don't hold your breath, Pals!

She is making good use of her new camera, however. There's hope for the old gal yet!

Stay warm!

I know, I know, I haven't written in a really long time. Blame Mom. She's had her head in "baby land" for quite a while now, and hardly ever lets me type! Very soon there will be another little furless girl--a "Furlass" if you will-- for me to sniff and love! I'm very excited! I've discovered since the first tiny Furlass arrived that they can be VERY good sources of all manner of yummy treats, so having two of them around can only double my pleasure, right?? I imagine Furlads can be just as good sources too, so keep your eyes out for them also, Pals!

The really exciting news is that Mom got her very own digital camera for Christmas, and she's working on getting a whole new set of photos of me!! It's so much fun to see how uncooperative I can be every time she tries to take a picture. I'm sure if I'm obstinate enough she'll go out and buy some of those heavenly chewy little liver treats to coax me with. Stay tuned. This is gonna be good, BOL!

I want to take this opportunity to wish DOGSTER a very Happy 4th Birthday...what would that be if you could average it in dog and cat years, I wonder? No matter. Thanks, Ted & Co. for all the fun! Wishing you many more successful years!!

On a personal note, Mom has been trying to get in touch with Xena {Warrior Princess} for quite some time. If anypup has heard from her recently, please send us a pawmail. Woof! Thanks!!

Dogster birthday cake for ALL!!!

I finally got Mom to add some pictures of one of her Christmas 2006 gifts--a woven tapestry of ME!! She's going to put it up on a wall in the dining room just as soon as the house painting is done.

Things here at the Polish Ponderosa have been pretty busy lately--Mom and Dad are doing some home improvements, and I get to bark at everyone who comes to give estimates, or do work, or whatever. What fun! And, to top it all, soon the lovely snow will return---one of my very very favorite things!!

Hope all you Dogsters have a safe and fun Halloween. I'll bark at you again soon!!
Tricks and Treats for ALL!!!!

I've been a bad, bad girl. If I had a doghouse, I'd surely be in it...for a long time. You see, there was a dead smashed sparrow at the end of our driveway for a few days, and every day we would pass it on our way to our walk, Mom would remind me to "leave it" and I did. Until today. I made it to the end of the driveway and scooped that thing up in my mouth before Mom could remember it was there (gotta love old ladies!). As soon as she realized what I'd done, she demanded that I "drop it". Yeah, right. NO WAY. So she remembered a Dog Whisperer episode she had seen just the night before where a bull dog was taught to let go of a garden hose by having his owner pry his jaws apart by using the dog's lips against the dog's teeth. Mom tried this right there in the middle of the road for several minutes. (Caution! Don't try this at home, kids, unless you live way out on the other side of nowhere like we do. Not much of a traffic problem here, BOL!) Cesar's advice must work only when a dog's jaws are open slightly and clamped around whatever needs to be retrieved. Mine were completely shut. So, I swallowed the sparrow whole--much like the robin I ingested a couple of years ago. Then I got to go see Dr. Williams at FPCC. He wasn't mad at me like Mom was. He said I'll very likely pass it with no problems, and he even said his dog has done the same thing. Mmmmm. Tasted like chicken!! Then, after I got my booster shot and Bortadella up my nose (UGH!), I got to spend some time with Ashley!! I got the best bath ever--I was really getting stinky :(, and my nails are so nice now. So refreshing after our ugly recent weather! Ashley said I even "talked" to her when she was doing my nails. BOL! I just love Ashley! I give her 'Houla Hugs every time I see her. I can't wait until her doggy joins Dogster. I'll be sure to let everyone know.

I hope you have all read my cousin BASIL's latest diary entry. He has some really exciting news. Looks like there will soon be another tiny furless one visiting here sometimes who will be very generous in dropping tidbits from the high chair! Basil has wanted me to write a Bug'O'The'Month about "Baby Bugs", so Mom Googled that phrase. All she got were references to a goofy looking baby cartoon rabbit????? HERE is what she found when she looked up "infant bugs", so there you have it! The August 2007 BOTM!!
'Houla Hugs to ALL!!!

Hooray! Today, June 8, 2007, is my fifth birthday!! What a super day I'm going to have!! I just know Mom and Dad have special treats planned for me all day long! Oh, and before I forget, I want to woof Happy Birthday to my cousin, BASIL, who is three today!!! And also Happy Birthday to the handsomest Fire Dawg, BAXTER, who is also five today!!! Birthday cake for everypup!! Whoo Hoo!!

To add the the festivities, I have a very special BOTM for June this year. It is the Hummingbird Moth. There was one at the Penta flowers on our porch yesterday, and they are very amazing to watch. They look like baby hummingbirds, except they have antennae like moths. I'm hoping Dad can get a picture of it the next time it visits!

I almost got to play with a deer this week too!! I think he maybe showed up early for my birthday party, BOL! He came across the road right into our front yard. I barked a very nice greeting to him, but he didn't stay to play. He stopped about 30 feet from me and then turned and ran into the soybean field next door. Maybe he can stay to play with me next time.

Wishing everydog a safe and happy Summer! Houla Hugs!

Hey, Pups! I've been tagged in the new Dogster tag game by three of my Pals, so I decided I better reveal 7 fun facts about me. It will help me get over my snit at Mom for leaving me for a whole night and day while she went to visit my human brother and that little baby that smells so good, BOL! I was in good hands, Pups, not to worry. Dad was with me the whole time...except he got my potty schedule a little mixed up and I had to wake him up at 3am this morning for an emergency trip outside :)

Here are the Tag Game instructions:

The Rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their diary the rules and their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

Skye's 7 Pawsome Facts:

#1. At my grooming appointment last week, I weighed 109 pounds. I'm sure their scale is broken, but Mom isn't buying it. No more treats :(

#2. The best part of my day is my daily walk with Mom. I get very upset if she can't take me ( like yesterday and today, Mom!)

#3. I get a chewie rawhide every night after Mom gets the dinner dishes done. Only one certain brand will do.

#4. I have really white teeth for my age.

#5. My birthday is in 15 days, and so is my cousin Basil's. But he's a couple of years younger.

#6. I am never allowed on the furniture or the beds. I have 3 official beds of my own, and a few other favorite napping places, though.

#7. I once swallowed a whole dead robin.

My seven tagged Pals are:

Well, Pups, we've finally found it. The ultimate Bug(s)'o'the'Month! And the timing couldn't be more perfect. Announcing the April selection--ta-da-da-daaaaaa! CHOCOLATE BUGS !
At this site, you will find chocolate butterflies, chocolate spiders, chocolate cockroach clusters--all manner of yummy buggy goodness. Yeah. I know. No chocolate for dogs, but a girl can dream, can't she?

We want to wish all of you a wonderful, beautiful Spring!! What a great time of year!

It's March! Time for a new BOTM!

Hi Pups! Finally it's March! The snow is melting, we can even see the grass again, and just like LYLE told me--all the good sniffs were kept fresh by the snow. We have some pretty big frozen puddles in the yard today too, so I'm practicing my ice dancing moves, just in case the Ice Capades call.

My nomination for March Bug'o'the'Month is CL OVER MITES ! I searched and searched for a "corned beef" bug, but wasn't able to find one. Maybe Clover Mites are corned beef flavored! YUM :)

I get to go to the beauty parlor this week and see my good friend, Ashley! I haven't seen her in a while, so I'm going to have a fun day, I'm sure.

Hope all you you have a great St. Pat's Day! And I hope you get LOTS of corned beef (except for BASIL, who probably wouldn't eat it anyway!)

Houla Hugs............Skye

February BOTM!

Hey Pups! Happy February from snowy NE Ohio. Hope everyone is doing OK !

The Bug'o'the Month this month is technically a "dipterans" but--a bug by any other name............**drum roll and thunderous applause**
LOVE BUGS!!!! They can't be found everywhere (yet) but you must admit, they have a catchy name! They are native to Central America and are on the move.

Of course, February also brings to mind other kinds of love bugs. Hearts and flowers and kisses and all that mushy stuff that keeps certain card companies and lingerie stores wealthy. And, of course, CHOCOLATE! Mom keeps trying to convince me that it isn't good for dogs. Hrrrmmpph! Poppycock, I say! Just look at the expressions on your humans' faces when they are munching on a fine cnocolate. It must be wonderful stuff, right?? Just another conspiracy from our humans to hoard all the good stuff for themselves, Pups! I say we need to sit in front of them and drool all over their shoes whenver they eat chocolate!

Oh! Wait! I do that any time I see them eating anything!

Good treats and Big Houla Hugs to ALL!!
