Arrival Story:
I was working at a vet's office. A client walked in demanding a rabies shot for his dog. The dog had been picked up by the pound and he had five days to get her, her rabies shot. She had a horrible ear infection, her ears were full of mites and you could tell she had recently had puppies. The man wouldn't pay to have anything done to her but the rabies shot. The entire staff felt horrible for her. Even though she was having a bad life she was giving everyone kisses and wagging her tail. I mentioned to one of the vet techs that if the owner didn't want her, I would take her. The rest is history. I feel horrible that I couldn't do anything about her puppies. He sold some and left the rest at the pound. I never was a lab person but I mus admit that Honey Pie makes me laugh every day and is a character.
