Arrival Story:
When I originally went to find a new dog at the pound I didn't even notice the 3 month old golden brown angel sitting in one of the kennels. I was overwhelmed with choices and decided to wait another day. That night I found her picture on the pound website and fell in love. The next morning I went back and introduced myself to her with wonderful and loving results. An hour later she was riding home laying in my lap like she had been there the entire time.

Bio:
I named her after Princess Leia from Star Wars, because I love those movies and her huge ears reminded me of the hair buns. She lives up to her name well, she's one tough girl but can act like a total queen when she needs to. After adopting her we almost lost her to pneumonia that had apparently been festering in her lungs while in the pound. She was already sick with worms and so she was already malnutrition, she went from perky to lethargic in about a day. She had to be placed at the vet over a four day weekend on a breathing treatment, medication and IV. She's all better now and she's the happiest dog I've ever had the pleasure of being friends with.
