I went to the shelter in April of 2010 to sign up for volunteer work when this tiny terrier caught my eye. She was coughing violently and had practically no hair on her back end. I showed her to my mother, but we both were hesitant to get another dog. We went home without her. The next day we were sitting together in the living room and she looks up at me and says, "Let's go get the dog." After adopting her we found out she had pneumonia in both lungs. Our vet didn't think she'd survive at her advanced age, but she did and is doing very well today.
