Tasty treats, mmm! Following Mom around, playing with Petal and Ella, following the cats around, bossing the cats and my sisters around, making Mommy happy, butt scratches, ear rubs and belly rubs.
Fireworks and thunder! But as long as there is a place to hide, I'll be fine.
My red and teal Planet Dog ball.
Wherever there's lots of people to pet me and "oooh" and "awww" over me.
Shake, stay, sit, shake off (after a bath)
When I was about nine years old, my grandma and great grandpa told me all about a Collie they had while my grandma was growing up. They told me all about their Collie playing hide and seek and jump rope. Her name was Princess and ever since I heard those stories, I've been in love with Collies. I started reading everything I could find about Collies and watching any Collie movies and TV shows I could get my hands on. So of course I became a huge Lassie fan as well.
When I was 12 or 13 I told my Mom I was going to ask Santa for a Collie. She told me Santa doesn't bring livestock (ha, ha) and suggested I earn and save my money and buy a Collie myself. She helped me figure out a good way to budget my money and I started taking every babysitting, dogsitting, dog walking, catsitting, or housesitting job I could get from my neighbors. I spent a lot of my free time doing more research on the breed, looking through rescues and breeders. Living in Utah you don't see a whole lot of Collies. I had never seen one in a shelter, so I decided a breeder was probably my best bet.
In November of 2004 I was looking through Collie breeders, all of them out of state, on the internet and their super cute puppies. I found several pups that were absolutely gorgeous and were everything I was looking for as far as looks go (I wanted one that looks just like the famous Lassie), but I kept looking anyway. I kept searching until I found a puppy with the title "x-mas" or something along those lines. Once I laid my eyes on his pictures I knew I didn't need to look any further because that was the puppy for me, even though he didn't have that white stripe running along his nose and head, he was going to be mine and it didn't matter.
He flew from Oklahoma to Utah and we have been best friends ever since!

September 10 2011 Lassie passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen test! I couldn't be any prouder and we can't wait to receive his certificate in the mail. You can read more about it here.
I'm the king. Scratch my butt!
