Arrival Story:
We saw him and his two brothers at a pet store. As soon as I picked him up I fell in love! There were several other people eyeing him up but we became the lucky owners. There is another story about his brother, Jake, who we also own (but we didn't get them at the same time). Side note about the name - my fiance picked it out and I *hated* it. But, after having him in my life for eight months, it grew on me and I couldn't imagine him having any other name. A rose would smell just a sweet, right?

Bio:
I know what you're thinking - Basset Hound and Laborador Retriever? How'd they do that? Don't worry, we thought the same thing, too! This dog is amazing. He is so funny because of his short legs! He is strong and heatly and very eager to please. He loves his family very much and we love him, too.

Why Can't I Lick?

I went to see the doctor today! When I got there I was so excited to see all the other doggies there. I made some new friends! Mom says it's a good thing her heels weren't too high today or I would have pulled her over I was so excited.

But then, mom made me go in this little cage and she left! Why did she leave me there? I couldn't even see my new friend!

After a while, the doctor took me out of my cage and the next thing I remember, I was waking up and I feeling too good. Like something was missing. I was kind of groggy. Where did mom go, anyway?!? And I sure missed my brother, Jake. We haven't been apart for more than an hour since he came to live with us!

Finally, mommy and daddy came to get me. Even though I was sleepy I was still so excited to see them that I was running and jumping for joy!

Now mommy says we can go more places because I (hopefully, says mom) won't "mark" anymore. What d'you suppose that means?

Well, now I'm back at home and sleeping on the floor with my brother. Mom keeps telling me to stop licking, but I'm so itchy! She keeps warning me about a cone, but we'll just see about that...

I Don't Like Swimming!

Well, we finally went on the camping trip my mommy and daddy promised to take us on. We had so much fun! We were the only doggies there but that was OK. We got all the attention!

I discovered that I don't like swimming at all. My brother really really likes it, though. We couldn't keep him out of the water!

We must really be growing up becase we asked to go to bed and we were so well behaved (except for that time we took off down the beach and dad had to run after us and catch us!)

Thanks, everyone, for the bones. I'm off to take the socks of daddy's feet!

My Second Camping Trip

If you read my brother's entry, you know that we are going camping soon. I went camping with mommy and daddy once before, prior to my parents bringing my brother home to live with us. I'm so glad he's here; I've got to take good care of him so we can all be a big happy family for a long time.

Speaking of family, I am sad to say that my other brother, Shadow, is back at our local pound. Mom doesn't think I know, but I heard her talking about him. I am sad that the family who adopted him could not keep him; hopefully, another family will love him just as much as I do and bring him home.

Well, back to camping. When we went last time, my friend Timber came with us. Maybe she can come again? There might be lots of dogs this time! I love playing with my friends!

We got a new friend just the other day. Mom left to go to that place she goes to almost every day (why does she have to leave us?) but she came back right away, which was strange. She found us a friend for the day! It seems that Beauford, our new friend, had run away from home. Mom found him and didn't want to leave him running around, so she brought him to meet us. I think she found his daddy, though, becuase when she came home that afternoon she took him and he never came back! He was just like us except for brown and white. I like him!

Sometimes mom comes home smelling like other dogs. Jake and I sniff and sniff and sniff her shirt. I want to meet her doggie friends, too! Today she said she met a chocholate lab puppy who was only seven weeks old. She said he was cute, but of course, mommy loves me best. I'm not jealous at all! I just wish she'd bring more friends for us to play with...

Anywoof, I hope my brother and I have fun camping. Mom said we are camping right on the beach this time. I don't like swimming at all, but maybe I could play in the water a little. My friend Timber really likes to swim, but my legs are pretty short.

Well, I see my brother went for a nap and you know we have to do everything together, so I'll woof at you soon.

Don't forget to leave me a treat, please! How could you resist these puppy dog eyes?
