His new Mommy seems to be very pleased with him. He's getting out more and meeting a lot more people and dogs. So far so good Bandit boy.

Hurray, Bandit went to his furever home today! Bandit went home with a nice retired lady who really loves her Shelties. Bandit was very lovey dovey with her when she came to meet him and she feels that they were meant to be with each other. Good luck Bandit buddy, I hope we are kept up to date on your progress.

Bandit had a Vet check last week. After coming to us at an obese 49 lbs, he's now a fit 32 lbs. He's making good progress and looking great after getting groomed. Now he just needs to find a forever home.

Since we fostered Bandit we can answer questions you might have about him, but to adopt him you have to fill out an adoption form at the rescue website

Bandit came into rescue way over weight and judging by his skin and coat, he wasn't given a proper diet either. That has caused some health issues which are being addressed as much as possible. He wasn't able to get around very well and drags his butt around when the floor is slippery. After losing a lot of weight he is dragging his butt a lot less and is having an easier time going up stairs. He is nervous outside and only goes out to do his business then he wants back in. No worries about Bandit running off, that's for sure. He is a ladies dog and is very affectionate toward women. He's a bit reserved around men unless there is a woman around. That is probably due to his previous owner being an elderly woman who probably didn't socialize Bandit very much. Bandit loves belly rubs and games of catch and tug of war. When watching TV he'll lay down at your feet and even use your foot for a pillow. He's not crazy about people leaving the house and will bark like most Shelties when you are getting ready to leave. When he hears you get home he may howl which sounds funny for a Sheltie.

Bandit is only six years old and with a little work, he should make someone a really good companion.
