Likes:
Their new yard. The floor length windows. Car rides and walks

Pet-Peeves:
Dog food.

Favorite Toy:
In the past, Ginger and Chas shared a lamb "security blanket." Otherwise, they'll take new toys, but then drop them.

Favorite Food:
Real meat.

Favorite Walk:
The walk they had during their family reunion.

Best Tricks:
I don't think they know tricks, but Chas knows how to get on the bed by putting his paws up and whining at his new Mommy.

Arrival Story:
After having to put our beloved Lottie Dah to rest, we learned of these beautiful Tzus who were once part of an extremely loving family of 6 Tzus and one woman, Pat. Pat passed away at her home in late July, 2011. Pat had no family and no will. The dogs were taken by police to Newark's ASPCA and set for euthanization. Pat's best friend Lori convinced the Shelter to release the dogs to her on a Saturday and try to find them new homes. The parents stayed with her and the "puppies" with another woman. The dogs are Mama Ginger (12), Papa Chas (12), and "puppies" Honey Girl, Baby Troubles, Buddy and Beau (all 8). Troubles found a home with one of Pat's friends immediately. We learned of the dogs' plight and the desire to keep Ginger and Chas together for the rest of their lives. We adopted them on August 20, 2011 along with their daughter Honey. These dogs are Pat's living legacy. They were deeply loved and extremely well taken care of. They have a wonderful well-behaved and loving temperament. The first night here, the 3 let us eat without any begging, in fact they laid down and went to sleep. Chas loves his new Mommy and her bed. Ginger loves to follow her Trista around. And, Honey is just that, an absolute honey. Despite all they've been through, they seem extremely happy and willing to accept us at their new forever home.
