Arrival Story:
After losing Turner we thought we could never have another dog, let alone a puppy. We started to "just look" and found some pups at a rescue. Went to see them a couple of times, but still wasn't sure. Went to Petfest 2011 and Grunt (formerly Marine) was in a pen with one of the original pups we were interested in. Grunt walked right up to hubby waggin his tail and smiling. Then he came over to me. I knew we were hooked from that moment on.

Grunt and his siblings were the result of his momma being taken to a friends while her human was away. The friend "accidentially" let the female breed with her male pit. DUH!! We believe the pups were brought to Joyful Rescues over the Memorial Day weekend. As their names were all after the armed forces. Grunt's original name was Marine. We, of course, changed it to Grunt. Grunt is so steady in personality, he loves Darcy to pieces and has brought her personality out beyond her training. He's working his healing magic on hubby and I. Making the sun shine in our home again. We just love him!

Grandpa died in November, grandma has been sick. Mom has been back and forth to help grandma when she can. That means we don't see mom as much as we want to. Mom takes me and Darcy to the lake when the weather is nice. The winter, so far, has been pretty mild which I'm loving!! I haven't been going for walks as much as mom had knee surgery and is still healing from it. But, I play with Darcy and we play in the house so I'm good! Dad has been doing an awesome job with us! He does take us for short walks when he can. And he knows when I'm bored and will get on the floor and play with me.

But when mom's home and she looks tired, I snuggle up with her and she talks to me. She tells me how lucky she is to have such a good boy and that she's proud of me for behaving for dad.

Hi gang! We seldomly get on Dogster. But we're still here! Hope everyone is safe and warm! I haven't been eating as much - not much playtime so I'm not as hungry. Besides I don't want to get fat! I have to represent my breed! :) Mom and dad are good. Just like me and Darcy they're waiting for winter to end so we can hang out on the deck! Have a great day everyone!
