Nicknames: AUSTIN BOXER RESCUE Arrival Story: Dot is an exuberant, sweet young girl with a beautiful coat that is white with brown polka dots. We're not sure of her history, but we know that as of now she is happy and a joy to her foster family! She has a new foster brother, a young 3-legged boxer, who she has bonded with beautifully. She loves playing with him and the other dog in the home; she has shown nice manners in terms of sharing toys and not being possessive about food. She has not shown any aggression towards cats. She walks nicely on a leash and is progressing well in terms of house training and home manners. Dot has loved every person and dog she's met however it's clear that no one worked effectively with Dot on obiediance before she came to ABR because she jumps a lot on people and has not learned how to manage her excitement at meeting new people. For this reason, she might not do well with a family with toddlers/young children unless they were willing to commit to training to teach her otherwise and being patient while she learned. Dot is healthy and ready to find her forever family! She would do best in a home where there is another dog that will play with her and not mind her active nature and where she will have plenty of outlets for her high energy level. Bio: UPDATE
Dot is a gorgeous white female Boxer with some cute brown polka dots. Unlike some White Boxers Dot is not deaf. Dot can hear just fine and while in foster care waiting on a forever home she has learned all her basic commands and knows both verbal and hand signals. As you can see from her photos she has "impulses" under control! Dot waits for doors, food and treats until the human gives the okay. Dot is great as far as leash manners go after the first 5 minutes of excitement.
Dot is looking for a special person to take care of her. In the 6 months her foster Mom has had her she has never gone potty while on leash so she needs a yard to do her business in! Dot has displayed very rude behavior with her very tolerant foster sister but we think she would do great with a single male dog! Also, due to some personal issues Dot would do best in a home without small kids! Dot has had extensive training with her current foster Mom and she is willing to work with anyone interested in adopting her!
