When we first got her, I don't think she'd ever been indoors. Now she opens doors, goes out to do her business, understands stay (even for food and treats) and waits till I say OK, gets in the truck with me, all sorts of stuff that is "regular" for most
Arrival Story:
Someone dumped MD (Momma Dog) out here in the MO countryside a week before she had a litter of pups. She had her pups on, or around the 4th of July. (She wouldn't let anyone get near her, so I'm not exactly sure when they were born.). The neighbors and I left food out for her. You could tell she was nursing pups, so we knew she had them and they lived. I never saw the pups. I think the farmer across the street where she was hiding. Must have taken them to the shelter. It was 3-4 months before shed let me get close to her. One of my other dogs brought her over to meet me. She is a wonderful friend!!!
Bio:
We think she is part Beagle and part Whippet. She has a lot of the coloring of a beagle....especially the white tip on her tail, and she has the pointy face/nose and barrel chest of a Whippet. PLUS, she hunts by sight (Whippet) and by smell (Beagle type smelling ability).
