Arrival Story:
We rescued Penny on July 30, 2011. She was found wandering the streets of League City, TX. She was just 6 months old. We don't know why or how she ended up on the streets, but she's safe with us now and that's all that matters. We say it time and time again, but she really is THE perfect dog! She is an incredible mix of playful and laid back. She is very intelligent and while she knows many commands, she is smart in that she knows the difference between following a command simply for our pleasure and a treat and for when it really benefits her. She is very affectionate. She is speedy like a greyhound and tireless at play sometimes teasing us into playing with her. She can be stuck to us like glue but she has a good level of independence too! She is a herding dog and those traits are starting to come out. When there are lots of children around, she tries to round them up. The way she lays on the floor when she's playing with her kong - flattened out like a pancake! It's what cattle dogs do to avoid getting kicked by the cattle while they are following them. I love coming home from work every day and she is right there at the garage door wagging her tail and just shoving herslef into me for some love.
