Arrival Story:
Koda & Fox's mom was no longer able to care for them as she wanted, so she decided to list on craigslist that she was looking for a good home. We responded to her post & now have 2 more fur kids, making that a total of five. ;-) UPDATE: Koda was not happy sharing attention with the other fur kids. He was always trying to push his head into us so we would not give the others attention & when we were gone he would always get into some sort of food. (flour, bread, anything on the counters, the trash cans, etc) We set up a video camera to be certain which one was up to no good. It was actually comical to watch the video. We found a home for him that had 3 kids (8-13 yrs old) and no other pets. After we met the family, we instantly knew that Koda would not only make a wonderful pet for them but they would also be a wonderful family for Koda. While we were outside with the family, the father opened the door on back of the SUV & without prompting, Koda jumped in & climbed over the back seat to where the 3 kids were sitting. The last time we checked in with the family Koda was doing great. I miss him & hate it that we weren't able to keep him but I know he is happier where he is. He doesn't get into things at his new home & he has lots of attention and sleeps with the youngest boy every night.

Swimming in the Pond

Finally! We got to go to the pond today. As soon as my dad opened the gate I ran for the water. Then my dad threw a ball & I swam way out in the pond to get the ball. He thought I would bring it back to the grass but I dropped it in the water & just looked at him. That will show him not to wait so long to take us next time!

Mom & dad really liked watching us play in the water. They were surprised when Lucy jumped in the water too. Mom said Lucy likes mud puddles but she usually don't get in a pond. She didn't go out very far though. She just got all muddy.

My mom got in a paddle boat with my human sister, Miranda, & I tried to catch them. I wanted to get on the boat too. I kept putting my front paws on the boat & Miranda was afraid I was going to make them tip. It was real funny. Finally, they took the boat to the side & convinced me to get on the back of it. I didn't stay there long. I jumped right back in the water.. that's a lot more fun! I was having a lot of fun swimming all over the pond, but I was glad when we had to leave because I was sure tired. Fox is whining because he wants to write about his day now. Be sure to check out my video mom put on dogster. She had a video of me getting the ball, but her finger got in the way on that video so she decided not to use it.

A live chicken? I WANT IT!

I went with my dad to mamaw & papaws. Everyone was checking out the chickens so I got in there too. I grabbed hold of a chicken & had it on the ground in no time. My dad got upset with me because papaw has lost a lot of chickens. The racoons have been killing them. Papaw has caught 9 racoons in the trap in less than a week!

I got a spanking for grabbing that chicken. Dad said he thought I was going to kill the chicken. Gosh, I can't eat the bread or tortilla's & I can't have a chicken either? Dad explained to me that we get eggs from chickens & eggs are good so I think I will ask my dad to fix all of us an egg for breakfast. That sounds like a pretty good idea, don't ya think?

Oh... wanna hear something real cool? My dad got the new doggy door put in yesterday. I can go in & out all by myself now. I'm still a little confused by it sometimes. I went out earlier today & when I was ready to come in I started barking. My mom walked to the back door & told me to come on by myself. I just needed a little encouragement. Well, Fox wants to write a little bit in his diary now. Hugs & Kisses to all, Koda

Awwww man! I got busted!!

I got caught snatching the food off the counter. They had me on camera, I couldn't deny it. This time I ate a whole package of Tortilla shells. The camera showed that it was all me. No-one even tried to eat some of my food.

The way I was getting up there was pretty slick. I would climb on the back of the loveseat & stretch over to the counter to get my goodies. Then I would bring the goodies to the floor and PIG OUT! I managed to get 1/2 loaf of bread the 1st time, almost a full loaf the 2nd time & all of the tortillas on the day I was caught.

When mom first came in the door & saw the mess in the floor, she took the empty package & asked me if I knew who done that. I lowered my head & laid on the floor. I didn't want to look at her. Then they watched a video. I felt really bad because I knew they were upset with me. She told me I better not do it anymore.

Later, when we were getting ready for supper, dad put the empty bag toward me & said that was my supper. I looked down again & walked away. I really made them upset, didn't I? He did give me my food, but said he wanted me to realize that I couldn't be sneaking food off of the counters.

I'm going to try REALLY hard so I don't do that anymore.
