Arrival Story:
Gretchen came to us after being abandoned in Shreveport when the people who had her moved and just turned her out. A former co-worker of Vikki's had a large doggie door for his Dane and "Gretchen" came into his house during the night and when he woke up she was in bed with him. When he moved she high-tailed it out of there. This happened several times. He knew where she came from and that her owners had left her. He finally managed to catch her and he asked if we would like her. I went and met her and immediately I knew she was my dog.

Bio:
It took Gretchen a total of about 5 minutes to claim the title of "Daddy's little Princess". We have a total of 5 dogs and Gretchen established herself as Alpha. The others really couldn't care less. She (and the other furkids)have free run of our place and about 30,000 acres of undeveloped property around us. They can run and play to their hearts content. There are several ponds around and they love to come home soaking wet.

OUCH!

My mom had to drop me off at the vet today. Last night, I came home after I tangled with a boar. I have some very nasty cuts. One that is 8 inches long and 2 inches wide on my side. It goes all they way to the meat.... I am a hurting puppy. There is no ER vets close by. So, mom called my vet and he told her what to do to help me until I could be taken in @ 6am this morning......We are having an issue with boars coming closer to humans do to the drought here in Louisiana/Texas area.

They have to knock me out and clean out my wounds and sew the cuts closed.

I am going to be away from my family for several days....

I am going to really miss my Dad, Mom and all of my fur brothers and sisters.....
