 Nicknames: Lap Princess, Little One

Arrival Story: I was kind of a mess when I was picked up. But I got good food and a great sofa and started feeling much better. Then I got an aggressive case of glaucoma and lost my right eye. Then I got glaucoma in the left eye and went blind. But my peeps at New Rattitude took care of me and got me laser surgery. The I could see!

Bio: Don’t be fooled by my puppy-fuzzy cuteness. I am a four-year-old lady who knows how to behave politely in the house. I am a petite 12 lbs and only 12 inches tall at the shoulder. I am house trained and crate trained. I will sleep in my crate if you want, but you would be passing up an opportunity to snuggle with a sweet, quiet girl who can stay still all night. I’m reserved with new people, but affectionate and playful with my own humans. I am the ultimate lap princess and just want to be with you. I love to play and make you laugh by rearing and pawing the air like a pony. I spin and stomp and roll in a small area, like I’m practicing for apartment living. I very much enjoy ear scritches and tummy rubs! I also like boy dogs and love to play with them. Sometimes I boss them around, like when they try to share my lap. I’m not a big fan of girl dogs, but I can live with the kind of girl dog who will defer to me. I like kids who are really gentle with me and can remember not to surprise me on my blind side. Cats are okay if they will stay away from me, but I don’t like them. I can’t catch’em and I can’t see’em very well, but I still don’t like’em. I accept that I’m the cutest little one-eyed dog you ever saw. My eye is being treated for an immature cataract right now and they tell me to expect the glaucoma to kick in one day, hopefully years from now. But I get around great! I need eye drops every day, which is cool because I love the treats that follow! I’m not too worried about being blind when I’m older because I’ve been blind for a short time before. I just stick close to my human and do things more carefully, that’s all. The big world outside my comfy house still stresses me out some, so I don’t mind staying home. What I’d really like is a calm house and the warm lap of someone who will be as sweet to me as I will be to you.

I love a nice warm lap. I love laps so much I'll hang onto my spot even if the lap starts moving. Sometimes I make my piglet grunts when I have to move with the lap. Not yet, I'm still napping!
Laps that stay still are my favorite. If your lap also includes gentle hands to softly ruffle my fur and stroke my neck, all the better. It's okay if you want to whisper how pretty I am. I can always go back to sleep.
My favorite lap position is with my head oriented toward my person. I will tuck my nose between your arm and body or lay my head in the crook of your arm. Snuggling is the best.

How neat to wake up this morning as Dogster's Diary of the Day and get pup pal requests. Thanks!
It's a wonderful morning of extra butt scritches and meat in my bowl. The air is cool just the way I like it. I prance around like a pony when it's very cool outside. After breakfast, I get a short nap in a warm lap. Ah, it's great to be a dog.

My foster mom took me with her to sit at the auto service center all afternoon. At first I thought she just wanted to share the boredom, but then I figured out that she wanted a little Rosa Magic. People kept coming up to us because, as you know, I'm irresistible.
We met an Italian Greyhound rescuer who showed us photos of her Iggies. We met several people with stories of their rescue dogs. We met a guy with a Rat Terrier who couldn't take his eyes off me. We got to warn him about the chicken jerky made in China and tell him where to get safer jerky.
People were so nice to me that I got really calm. They asked if I could have a treat. They asked if they could touch me and they were real gentle about it. It turned into a great afternoon.
My foster mom says that people are nicer when I'm around. Well, there you go. It's the Rosa Magic.
