My hip is fixed!

So a few weeks ago, something really crazy happened to me. Mom and dad took me to the vet and I was super excited as usual (I love the vet). But then they left me there! And the vet did give me drugs, when I woke up I was hurting and my leg was bald with a big scar.

Mom says I had FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery. The top of my femur was removed and now I have a false joint. At first I was sore, but it didn't take me long to come around.

I had my check up yesterday and the vet says I am doing good, I can even start to run again. Mom says my sister Molly can come visit me now and we can zooooooooom!!!

I has surgery?

Well this week has been a scary one for my family (not me, I got noms and cuddles, that's all I really care about).

I got my follow up x-rays on Monday for my hip. Mom didn't think there would be any change but boy was there ever! The top of my femur is falling apart!! The vet told mom it's probably from an old injury, but looked a little like bone cancer.

Mom held it together until she got in the car, then she cried at the thought of me being sick :(

But good news. The vet sent my results to some radiologists who say it does look like an injury, not the 'big C.' So now I has to get surgery. I need a femoral head ostectomy...whatever that is! All I know is once it's done I should be even more mobile than ever. I have my consultation next week, then surgery as soon as possible.

I'm a bit nervous but mom says I'll do great.

I'm a whole new pup!

It's been a long time since I updated this, but I have nothing but good news!

I haven't gotten sick at all in a month! Mom says I 'rounded the corner'...whatever that means.

I'm still a skinny boy compared to the average dog, but I've put on weight. My tummy doesn't cave in anymore, my ribs aren't sticking out and, here's the best part, I have muscle!

I go for two walkies a day now and I don't even get tired. Mom can't believe that I could improve so much, so fast. I'm a whole new pup :)
