Arrival Story:
Einstein was found in a ditch at the age of 5 weeks by a rescue. We adopted him at the age of 7 weeks. I had lost my TeddyBear Grizzy, an ARF rescue of 9 years on October 18th 2004 to cancer. After a month of greiving to the point of not eating or being able to cope anymore, I wanted to save another dog as a tribute to GrizzyBear as well as to help ease my own pain. I took the first dog that needed a home and looked nothing like GrizzyBear. The rescue lady said it would be harder to home him as he would be quite large..odd, GrizzyBear was a hard to place 138 lb lab/mastiff mix that fit right in. "Okay, he's staying" I told her after the first night. As you can see by the pictures, he's a brown fluffball with a personality all his own. For some, a new dog so soon is out of the question. For me, giving a home to another homeless pup was a necessity to retain my sanity. By taking a pup that needed 24/7 attention, my mind was always occupied. I didn't think I'd survive to see Christmas due to lack of sleep, trips out to potty and teaching him the crate was good. Einstein is the first pup I've crated, so it was a learning process for both of us. Of course he can't replace Grizzy, but I wouldn't want it that way. Einstein now holds "his own" piece of my heart. Forever it seems I'm giving pieces away to be broken, but along the journey, my heart is sooo very full of love.

Einstein is unique and hears about GrizzyBear often. He's my little genius and seems to know more at times than I do about how to raise him. He's very independant, super smart and has been house trained since 3 months of age. Of course I'm waiting for him to mess up, but he's such a great boy. He's a chewer of course, he's a baby! But he seems to know how to choose his own things and tries so hard to be "good". Okay, okay so he's chewed a few cords and a couple of tv cables, shame on me for not moving them out of reach. He's a sensitive soul and has the most expressive eyes now that I've decided I'll "let" myself get attached to him (like I had a choice!). I love you my little Eintiny! UPDATE: The house, the kids, Hooch, Ice and everything else are MINE! So just ask first and if you're nice, you can play with them. I just need to check you out first. :)

Oh I'm on a diet yay..NOT!
I'm adjusting..it's for the best. Mom says I don't want bad joints, whatever they are.
On a serious note, I think I enjoy the food more when there's less of it?? LOL!
I have to keep 'walking' to get some..go figure. Humans!

Going to the park

Well, I've been going to the park and getting to run off leash YAY! I just don't always come right back..okay okay so maybe I've left the park a couple times. I've been told my re-call needs work. Mom said I needed to start meeting more people and other dogs too. It's not that I don't like other dogs, I just feel the need to show them I'M BOSS is all, then we can play. I love to play with other furballs. Mom says I don't need that much responsibilty and I've been taking on too much of a pack leader role. I guard MY house and MY family, but Mom says she'll start taking more of that responsibilty so I can RELAX more. It's hard work looking after Hooch, Ice and 6 humas too! So I'm going to learn to relax a little more and have more fun outside running..something about losing 5 pounds..I never lose anything! : )
I walk great! Mom is so proud of the way I walk on a leash...you should see Ice! Ha! She's started doing a LOT better now, but boy..she thinks the leash is to drag people around with. Oh well, that's why I'M named Einstein and not her hehe. I really like all this running, I come home and have great naps.
Maybe Mom will lose 5 lbs too..then I can help her find them, I'm great at sniffing things out : )
