To be with me. She was my constant companion and wanted to be where I was.
She did not like to be sat on, especially her tail. She also didn't like to be touched by another animal when she was trying to sleep.
A stuffed chicken-like squeek toy and an egg that she could roll to make sounds and dispense treats,
She loved people food, especially chips, cheese, bread, and ice cream.
She couldn't walk, but she loved to go in her stroller.
She knew how to sit and shake.
Sophie was meant to be a birthday gift for a mutual friend, but that woman didn't want her so I begged my dad to let me keep her. There was just something special about the little girl that I was immediately attracted to.
Sophie had a neurological disorder that progressed until the end of her life at 2 years of age. At first, she had these constant tremors in her front legs and face, which never allowed her body to be completely at rest, even if she was sleeping or anesthetized. At around five months old, she began walking on the tips of her toes on her front paws and then eventually folded her front paws under her and walked on her wrists. In about November 2010, her hind paws began doing the same thing. Around February 2011, Sophie began losing the ability to walk and control her bodily functions. Even though she was disabled, she loved life more than anybody and was always so happy and alert. Sophie took her final breath on May 27, 2011 at 2-years-old. She was the love of my life and I miss her terribly, but it was the right thing to do. Unfortunately her body was her prison, and now her spirit is free.
