She was brought in to my mom's work with someone claiming they were going to drown her, since she was the "runt" of the litter. My mom promptly adopted her there and then (who wouldnt have!?!). She was small enough to fit into a gown pocket, and has always had one pink eye from birth (the skin around the eye is pink, like the skin on her belly). She was obviously abused before we got her, because she wouldn't let anyone pat her. If you made sudden movements around her, she'd yelp (and loudly!!) even if you were a few feet away. When we had to euthanise her (she was pining after our other dog, Brutus) she became so docile, and it was so strange to be able to finally pat her without her yelping, and before she left us, she looked each of the family in the eyes for a few seconds. I will never forget that look! I'm sure wherever she is now, God is keeping her happy and she and Brutus are waiting for us to join them.
