She had been given to my aunt in hopes that my uncle would want to keep her. He did not want an inside dog though but saw how I bonded with her that weekend.
Before she was with me, when she was just a puppy, she was purchased from a Petland here in Georgia. Sadly, her early life was filled with heartbreak and abuse by a man. He beat her with broomsticks, cords, anything he could find really. He was confined to a wheelchair and to this day, squeaky wheels and some empty chairs will bother her. Many times if she is sleeping without me, she wakes barking...I think this is because she has a nightmare of when she was with him. She is almost 3 but the vet says it looks like she has already had two litters. She has had a hard life but now that she is with me, she will be spoiled for the rest of it!
