Snow was not too picky. Chicken was one of his favorites, but he also liked raw vension, and the rabbits he would catch.

Favorite Walk:

Best Tricks:
In hand signals, I could ask him to laydown and stay. I would drop a 1/2 a peanut butter sandwhich between his front paws and have a 30 minute conversation. At that I time release him so he could eat it. I used to bet $20 and win.

Arrival Story:
I went to visit my parents, I love a nice road trip. The 2nd day I was there, my d ad told me the neighbors had one Siberian Husky puppy left from the litter. He told me the pup was 12 weeks old and that if it did not sell soon, the breeder was going to take him over teh hill and shoot it.I walk down the hill and looked in the pen. There was this beautiful white puppy with ice blue eyes. I fell in love immediately. I could barely wait for the breeder to get off of work that evening. I sat on my parents porch watching the driveway entrance in the distance. When I saw her turn in the driveway I ran down the hill to meet her. When I asked her how much she wanted for the puppy, she thought for a minute. "Aw, I guess I will take $50 for him." She replied. I cut her a check right then and there, got his AKC registeration papers and walked to the house with my new friend. That was the beginning of a 9 year friendship.

Bio:
Snow should have been named Shadow. He was always at my side. When i finally returned to my home with him, I began taking himto work with me. He was kind of like the company mascot. Snonw went everywhere with me, work, fishing on the boat, camping, Hikeing and flyfishing in the mountains, to the grocery store. It was a rare moment when he was not with me. Snow was my first dog as an adult, I was in my early 30's. I knew nothing about the breed at the time. How quickly did I get enlightened. I started contacting different trainers listed in the local phone book. None of them wanted to take on training a Siberian Husky puppy. They all said a Nordic breed was next to impossible to train. I went to a bookstore and bought a book on dog training. We followed the chapters step by step. When we finished the section on the basic commands and began the section on selective retreival, I had left him home for a half a day from work, because of the heat. Snow decided he was tired of schooling. He got a hold of the book, opened the book to the section we just started. Then he tore the book in half, and shredded the half with the section we were working on. Is that smart or what? Snow was a learning experience. We had some trying times, but he became an exceptional dog. He was my best friend, business partner, and fishing partner. Almost 3 years after he began another journey i still think of him often. Before the company came to take him to be creamated, I had the vet shave some of his hair for me. I took the hair to a flyshop and had 5 dozen flies tied from it. Streamers, nynphs, and dry flies, different styles and sizes. I selected a few of each to hang above his urn. The rest are in my flybox to use on my next camping trip to the mountains. That way he will always be with me. The mountains were a special place for us. (Our last camping trip was a 4 week trip to the mountains 4 weeks before he left me.) I still have enough hair to have another 15 dozen or more flies tied. I know he is waiting for the day comes when it is time for me to join him
