Happy Holidays

Just wanted to say HI and Happy Holidays to everyone on Dogster. Santa brought me lots of bones and chew things, I hope you were good this year to get stuff from Santa too.

I just love winter! Snow is my thing. I like to run really fast in snow and bury my nose in it too. I also like to roll around in the snow like every 5 minutes. My mom thinks that my job in life is supposed to be a sled dog. She is going to have me pull her on a sled the next snowfall!!!

No bones!

What a month!! We moved to Chicago to a bigger place with a yard! About a week in, I started acting funny. My parents thought I was depressed, but by the 4th day they knew something was really wrong. I cried every time they touched me near my belly. A visit to the ER proved that I had bones stuck in my stomach. I had emergency surgery! The next day my p's took me to my regular vet, but about an hour later they had to come pick me up because I just didnt want to be in a cage at the vet. I kept pulling out my iv and sedatives werent working. Anyways, finally safe at home, mom and dad took care of me. A week later, I was in pain again. I cried all day and night...we went to the ER and to the vet, they couldnt find anything wrong with me. By the next night, mom put her foot down, she knew something was wrong. Back to the ER, sure enough I had a bit of an infection and fluid under my stitches.

This story ends good, I promise. Today, I am MUCH better. Back to my old self. And I can tell mom and dad are happy about that! They know the old Tala is back because Im certainly mischievous again! mmm, that flip flop tastes good!

Moral of the story: DO NOT give your dog bones. Only tendons or nylabones.

Moving

So, my parents are moving out of Evanston and into the city...I mean, did they even think about me and all the friends I have made in Evanston?? Im a bit sad about it, but, I think I will make new friends. Plus, mom and dad have promised to bring me back to visit. And we are moving into a bigger place, so I'll have more room to run around the house and cause chaos like I like to do on occassion. I'll let you know how I like the big city when I get there!

Im my own dog!

I'm 5 months now and Im weighing in at about 50 lbs. Im losing my teeth and it HURTS, Im not a wimp, but I do cry a bit about it. I started going camping and can I just say, why dont we live like this???? Its great!! I live, eat and sleep OUTSIDE. And I get to swim. Well, I dont actually swim yet, but I get in pretty deep. I now have 2 boyfriends...shhh, Eddy & George. I like them both. But in the end, I think Eddy and I are soulmates.

4 months and 40lbs!!

So, Im a little over 4 months now and I now weigh 40lbs, Im a big girl!!! Things are going good, Eddie and I play together everyday (morning and night), Im so lucky!!! I wish I could live outside, I cry to my parents to be outside alot, I know, I'm spolied. My p's say I may be going through my "terrible 2's"...not sure what that means, Im perfect!!

Im only a puppy!!

So, Im 3 1/2 months now and my p's are taking me to the park more often. Yesterday was a beautiful 55 degrees here in Chicago, so we were at the park lounging for a good 5 hours! Then a woman with her 11 yr. old lab dog came by. Of course, as sweet and friendly as I am, I just wanted to play. But, he kept taking my toys and would growl at me when I tried to play with him. Then, just before he left, he bit me!! It hurt and I bled a bit too. Meany!! Why are some dogs so mean? Im just a puppy and all I want to do is play!!

Other than that, it was still a good day at the park. I met another Labradoodle like my best bud Eddie. Tthis one was black (Eddie is blonde). He liked to jump around and play just like me and Eddie do!!!

This week I graduate from my Kindergarten class. I know how to Sit, Stay, Come, Down and I am getting better at walking on a leash. We are supposed to show a trick if we know one at graduation, but I dont know any. If anyone out there has a good easy trick I can learn in a few days, email me!!!

Chipped Tooth

So two days ago, I chipped my tooth on a beef bone! The vet says, that because Im a larger breed that my jaw can bite down harder than my puppy teeth can handle. So I was sent to a dental vet and I had to have surgery for the first time in my life!! I hated it, I didnt know anyone and had to be there all day. I did make one friend and we cuddled for a bit. Then when I got home, I was obviously a little upset with my parents. Then they gave me pain medication and it made me wacky!!

Today I am much better. Jumping all over the house as usual. Love ya later!
